Wow. That was awesome. As I said in another thread when Kirk broke down talking about Brett I got a bit teary-eyed. That was a fantastic segment.

+1Had to wipe my eyes a bit.
Not ashamed to admit it.
Great story.

Someone should send a copy of that story to that tool sportswriter who wrote that KF doesn't care about his players ( rhabdo story).
Great story.
As much as I have disliked ESPN lately, I have to give them credit for that great piece about Brett. They really captured the essence of the story and told the it with great care and sincerity.Wow. That was awesome. As I said in another thread when Kirk broke down talking about Brett I got a bit teary-eyed. That was a fantastic segment.
Between KF being a long tenured coach, at a small state program where football is everything, people calling for KF's head last year, Sashes death, and the whole Greenwood story, and the typical underdog story to boot, I just don't understand how people can hate this team. This is the type of team people usually hop on and praise.
Remember, it wasn't until the later rounds that the Russian fans completely turned on Ivan Drago and started cheering for Rocky.Between KF being a long tenured coach, at a small state program where football is everything, people calling for KF's head last year, Sashes death, and the whole Greenwood story, and the typical underdog story to boot, I just don't understand how people can hate this team. A "bit" teary-eyed? Fugg...Wow. That was awesome. As I said in another thread when Kirk broke down talking about Brett I got a bit teary-eyed. That was a fantastic segment.
I am one of those guys who tries to tough it out and fight back the tears if others are around... At the moment in the segment when they asked Kirk about the moment he heard about BG... And slowly Kirk lowered his head and cried.
Man, bring on the watery eyes. Great segment and kudos to everyone involved with BG's continued progress.
Well said SpartanHawk. I am very, very sorry about the passing of your mom. My thoughts are with you. Take care.It was a very nice story. Nice in the context of Hawk fans also losing Tyler Sash and Roy Marble in the same week earlier this year.
And for me personally, when I just lost my mom less than a week ago only a couple of days after I visited her for Thanksgiving and spent my last hours with her watching the Iowa/Nebraska game last Friday. She and my Dad (who passed a few years ago) both were also very tied to Michigan State where my dad worked as a professor there. So, I guess I haven't spent all of my tears yet this week.
The way the story on ESPN went in more detail and they explained how close they came to losing him, and his fight amongst other good fortune helped him survive and push hard towards being a survivor should be an inspiration to us all after that death of other Hawks earlier this year, and so many others of us who are now facing struggles in their personal lives with death and know others that need that inspiration too while they still live.
You go Brett! If ours and Kirk's tears and your effort can help inspire many to face the tough personal challenges that many face now, you've done the world a lot of good!
