William Keith Dodd, the former pastor of Lewark Church of God, has been charged with two counts of rape of a minor. His first appearance in Montgomery County Court was Friday. Court documents say Dodd allegedly raped a 12 or 13 year old two times between January 1st and September 11th of this year. He was arrested after an investigation by the Coffeyville Police Department. If convicted, Dodd could face life in prison, with no chance of parole for at least 25 years.
An evangelist who calls the Blackman area home is facing a slew of charges that revolve around the rape of a child. Benjamin Garlick was taken into custody under a sealed indictment that was handed down by a Rutherford County Grand Jury. Prior to Garlick’s arrest, he led church services in Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Arkansas, just to name a few. Garlick amassed thousands of views on YouTube and Facebook as a guest pastor, speaking at a variety of churches both large and small throughout the country.
The 32-year-old child rape suspect is currently behind bars under a $750,000 bond. The suspect was taken into custody this past Tuesday, which was the same day that his wife Shaantal Garlick was arrested. The courts show that she is facing 1-count of Facilitation of Aggravated Rape of a Child and 1-count of Aggravated Child Abuse / Endangerment to a child age 8 and younger.
Matthew Bryan Thilges, 60, of House Springs has been sentenced to seven years in prison for possession of child pornography. He also has been ordered to pay a total of $57,000 in restitution to 17 victims, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Thilges was sentenced Sept. 20 after pleading guilty on June 7 to receiving child pornography, court records show. FBI agents raided Thilges’ mobile home on Oct. 21, 2020, after he had made escalating threats against social media/tech employees, Democrats, police and others in YouTube video comments.
The agents seized numerous electronic devices that contained images and videos of child pornography and a child-size sex doll. In August 2020, he wrote, “Make the world a better place, shoot a democrat in the face. Start with every employee of twitter, google, facebook, youtube and the mainstream media. America thanks you,” the affidavit said.
A former Round Rock pastor was sentenced to 70 months in prison and 10 years probation for an enhanced charge of possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Texas.
David Lloyd Walther, 57, was a pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Round Rock when he was arrested in 2022. He was sentenced in a federal court in Austin on Wednesday, the release said. A judge also ordered him to pay $61,000 in restitution.

A former church youth leader in South Carolina who was arrested last year for multiple sex crimes against children has been arrested again after another victim spoke out to investigators. William Pinckney Carpenter III was arrested on Monday for criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Last year, Carpenter was arrested for multiple counts of assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct and sexual conduct with a minor. Carpenter was a youth leader at Eastview Baptist Church in Rock Hill and Grace Chapel Baptist Church in York when four of the alleged offenses took place, according to warrants.
He had been released on bonds totaling more than $150,000 while those charges were pending trial. Some of the victims in those cases were as young as seven years old.
A former Cambridge pastor accused of drugging and sexually abusing a child appeared at the Story County Courthouse Monday morning for a plea hearing and sentencing. Prosecutors say Mark Benson, 69, gave a young girl medicine to make her sleep, then sexually assaulted her several times between 2009 and 2012, when she was between 10 and 13 years old.
Benson addressed the victim and her family apologizing, asking for forgiveness. Many in court Monday shook their heads no.

Early last month, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it was made aware of allegations of misconduct by a church youth group leader, Gregory Norton.
Norton, 58, was accused of sexually molesting a teen that he met through functions at Oak Hill Church: Church of the Nazarene, according to JSO. The incident reportedly happened years earlier at the Westside church located on Old Middleburg Road.
On Saturday, Norton was arrested and is accused of eight counts of sexual battery. JSO said during its investigation, which included multiple interviews, an alleged second victim was also identified. Norton was working at Westside Baptist but left the church after allegations surfaced.

A Brentwood pastor was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Thursday and in charged in federal court with the sexual exploitation of a minor after he allegedly admitted coercing a teenage boy into taking and sending graphic photographs he then shared with others, court records show.
Jose Saez Jr., the 28-year-old pastor of Iglesia Cristiana Alumbrando El Camino church did not enter a plea at an initial appearance before Magistrate Judge James Wicks in federal court in Central Islip Thursday.
The FBI say Saez had 15 videos on his cellphone containing child porn. Saez also admitted that he engaged in similar conduct with other minors, according to the FBI.
