Congrats to Iowa State

Nebraska shut down Colorado. And Iowa State beat Iowa on last second field goal. Either one of those two playing in the conference title shows the Big 12 is mid majors.

Idaho and Boise State played Oregon tougher than many big ten teams earlier season. A lot changes over the course of the year which is nice having the 12 team playoff.

I think Iowa in Oct beats ISU at home with Lester getting more comfortable (with Cade or Sullivan.) I also think Colorado improved as the year went on and Nebraska regressed. I think CO beats them now. Many of my fav Iowa teams were totally different team later in the season.

College football is wild. It’s why it’s the best.

Congrats on being in the weakest conference, for an easier playoff path. Brilliant foresight.
Yeah, Do you think Iowa would go undefeated in the B12, I don't think so. The B10 has a lot of dead weight in football, take out Ohio State, Oregon, and Michigan they are no better than anyone else. By the way, the weak ISU did beat Iowa this year. I think someone is butthurt because ISU won 10 games is going to their championship game with a shot of a playoff birth.

We don’t need them in the playoffs. They need to lose to ASU. Jamie Pollard doesn't deserve playoff exposure.
Why not? It would be nice for the state of Iowa to have one of its two major college teams in the playoffs during our lifetime. When the hell is Iowa ever going to do it or even capable of getting a sniff at it? Besides, Iowa had their chance of keeping Iowa State from the playoffs when they blew it with the incompetence.

That’s bs, half the teams in the big 12 are mid majors.
Let's be honest here. The only decent team that Iowa beat this year was Minnesota, and they are hardly world beaters. They got totally smoked by OSU again and lost to bad MSU and UCLA teams who ended up 3-6 in conference. ISU beat Iowa and probably beats everyone Iowa played with the exception of OSU and OSU hasn't looked that great of late with the exception of the Indiana game.

Why not? Because it hurts the University of Iowa, that’s why not. This “it’s good for the state” is nonsense. When Alabama makes the playoff, people don’t say “That’s good for the state of Alabama”. There will be zero people outside of Iowa that will think it’s “good for the state” if ISU makes the playoff.

ISU is going to beat an overrated ASU team missing one of its best players and make the playoff, giving their program a recruiting bump over Iowa. They will be in a position to become perennial playoff contenders due to their joke conference. Worse, when they DO make the playoffs before Iowa, they will lord it over Hawk fans ad nauseum until the end of time.

It’s about time Iowa State joined the 10 win club! Weren’t they only 1 of a small few teams from a major conference to never win that many?

And if there was ever a year for them to do it, this was it. While not a tough conference by any stretch, the Big 12 was way down this year. Plus Iowa State didn’t have to play the conference’s top teams in the regular season. Was an extremely easy path for them this year.

The Iowa offense lacked a passing game against ISU just as it has all year. That's why they lost to ISU and why they would in all likelihood lose again. You simply can't win consistently in big boy football today with a team that can't throw the ball.

Iowa still won 8 games without a QB and badly botched the Iowa state game…but that besides the point and plays in an actual conference

Of course asu stud receiver got hurt today too, just one of those everything goes right for a very average Iowa state teams
There is a reason why you never have QB's and ISU has them.

Congrats to the Iowa State Cyclones on winning ten games, getting good quarterback play, being co-conference regular season champions, and possibly playing in the Big 12 title game! What a special season.
Yes indeed. Tip of the cap to the ISU coaches, players and fans. A great ride for them.
I bet they shake hands at the coin flip.

Iowa didn’t beat anybody either. Our best wins are Minnesota or Washington?!?
“Our”?……please little Clown b!tch.

Who on here is claiming Iowa deserves to play for a conference title &/or the playoffs? No one, cause we’re mid just your beloved MooU.

Lol Iowa’s bad run of QBs is ridiculous and I’ve been a massive Ferentz critic because of it, but you act like the game of college football has been played for only 6-7 years. A betting scandal lead to your current QB starting and you’ve had a whopping two good QBs in a row. Do we really want to go through the list of Iowa State QBs compared to Iowa QBs?

You guys can barely beat Iowa even when we have shit QB play. 2 wins in 10 years? Both of those wins being massive choke jobs and the win this year came off an (awful) rule change to save them from yet another loss.

Enjoy it while it lasts. It’s only a matter of time before this returns under NIL

Man. Can we go back to the CJ Beathard days when we could pound ISU into the ground or at least win?!?

I mean Ferentz has only lost to Campbell twice and both were extremely botched games (players fumbling going into the end zone and falling down in the open field running into the end zone in 2022.. Iowa ****ing around in the first half this year and not giving the ball to Johnson when Iowa State was begging to roll over, a new awful rule change even giving them a shot.

They’ve had a nice season but a shit ton of things went their way dodging ASU, Colorado and BYU all in the regular season. And now they get ASU without their stud receiver. It happens some seasons and has for Iowa.

But Iowa state can still barely beat Iowa with shit QB play, hasn’t beaten Iowa in jack trice since freaking 2011 (lol) - it’s only a matter of time before Iowa’s bad luck at the QB position ends and Iowa State returns to the Jacob Parks and Joel Lannings of the world under NIL. The Big 12 is essentially going to be a slightly improved MAC conference with Colorado likely rolling over everyone if Deion stays. Let’s not forget KU rolled through 3 of the 4 teams tied for first place in a 3 week span before getting smashed by an awful Baylor team. Playoff game is gonna be uglyyyy for the big 12 winner esp if they’re on the road. Just like nearly all of their playoff games were brutal in the four team playoff when they still had OU.

You have a point. ISU can't get in without winning it's CCG. Winning at Iowa does nothing to help a teams prestige on the national stage. Time for ISU to drop this game and schedule better teams in the non conference!

Nebraska…the team that beat down one of the big 12 teams tied for first? Let’s compare big 12 and big 10 playoff wins ten years from now, it won’t even be close just like it wasn’t even close with the four team playoff when you still had Oklahoma. Not to mention the BIg Ten picked up two teams with multiple playoff wins and NC appearances under a four team playoff format and got way stronger.

Lololol
You are seriously pumping up Nebraska? I know it's your biggest win this year after an amazing 5 first down performance but let's not forget the longest bowl drought of all power 5 teams! Lol.

Yea. That’s true. I guess losing in 2022 and this year just really stick out because it was one of the worst offensive performances Kinnick Stadium has ever seen with Brian Ferentz leading the charge in 2022. And we had no business losing this year to ISU either.
