Connor=Lil Lick 2.0

Wait, who shoots a ton, Connor? You mean when no one got open and he is forced to take a shot? While I don't agree that is generally the best route for the O he isn't forcing anything. He is WIDE open on the 3's he takes, almost always and thankfully he hit 3 key ones vs Illannoy or we lose that game.

I had to go back so I could follow. He was talking about Green. At first I also thought he was talking about Connor.

I’m really not surprised at 2 or 3 of the posters that were the biggest bashers of CM as I’ve thought for a long time they only knew enough about basketball and college athletics to dangerously shoot their mouths off. Now when Patrick contributes he’ll make a couple of them look even worse.

Connor is on the glue of this team, and tough as nails. He makes good decisions, and this shows in his country leading assist to TO ratio. He does not look for a shot and only shoots late in the clock or when wide open, as he should. Lastly, there is nobody better at feeding Garza in the post on tight passes. Connor is a BIG reason Garza is doing what he’s doing this year.

The irony of this thread is that Connor was the only one feeding the post (Cook and Garza) last season when this thread was created.

Very true. Some were so caught up in his shooting ability that they couldn't see all of the other things he brought to the table. Even last year, he was by far the best post-feeder, he played tough D and made smart decisions, and he was in the game instead of Moss at the end of the game because quite simply, he made better decisions and was tougher.

I liked hearing Connor calling out the officials for swallowing the whistle at the end of the Illinois game that led to the no call/dust-up between the teams at the end. Hopefully the refs have their heads screwed on straight from here on out and realize when a team is going to try to draw a foul as a part of their end of the half/game strategy. Don't swallow your whistles just because you want to get out of town ASAP!

I defended Connor in a couple threads last year (there were more than just this one) that were bashing him. I just searched back to a thread where I said Connor was a huge part of the improvement of the team from the previous season. Owenhawk, you “liked” my post.

Hawk fans should really learn not to bash freshman. Some of them are simply not quite B1G ready, but that doesn't mean they don't belong.

This thread is full of idiots. Connor does a lot of things well, but isn't a scorer/ shooter.

There is no reason to bad mouth a Hawkeye player, especially on a team having a good season.

With as many basketball experts available on this board I find it hard to believe the University of Iowa hasn't managed to find a great basketball coach to pick from. Flip a coin and our problems will be over.
