Cop shoots woman in head because he thought she was going to toss boiling water at him?

He's a cop. There's your defect. She's black. He's a redneck white.

The worst part is that he wouldn't even render aid, while the other cops wanted to. He's a disgusting piece of shit and hope he gets his just desserts in prison.
For being “educated” you say a lot of discriminatory dumb shit

That's the problem in many areas.

Nothing happens to bad cops.
Unless your name is Derek Chauvin.

There is nothing in that video that indicates a threat. The audio after he killed her is only an attempt to cover his ass.
That cop won't survive a month in prison.
Right about it all except that he won’t last a month in prison. What do you know that would elicit such a lame-brain prediction?

Watch the news.

And the obituaries.

This thread might help you understand. The video is here to verify.

Any other questions? Ignorance is not bliss.
You said “far too many cops are corrupt”.

So, how many (say, a percentage) of cops are corrupt, and what percentage would you feel would make it not “far too many”?

One is too many. But you give some bullied guy a gun and a badge and suddenly we have rogue cops.

Where do you see her putting her hands up?

I see a pot still in her hands as the goes down and out of view.
You don't shoot someone holding a pot of effing water. FFS this isn't hard to grasp. The officer was charged and should've been.

What's nuts is how you defend Trump's felony convictions but will go to great lengths defending poor policing where an innocent person gets smoked.

I’m pro-law enforcement / law and order but man….

…A lot of these officers are lacking the ability to solve conflict. They are seriously lacking the discipline you’d think they would have as public servants. This was bad or at least appears to be bad.

I respond with officers frequently and many of them lack basic social skills - that’s why they call us. Sad.

Take some time and read the posts again. I haven't defended this shooting.

Unfortunately, it happens too much.

Which makes one cop today, one yesterday, another one last week, then that one last month...you get the idea.

I understand police departments have trouble filling positions. They should not lower standards when hiring.
Did you read this cops history???

No way in hell this guy should have had a badge and a gun.

NO WAY

Now you exemplify the Trumpers...Don't believe what you see!!!

JFC

We both know this incident gets covered up without body cams.

This incident is what it is,.. no reason to extrapolate it into to your,... "Dirty cops all over the place!"

You realize there are upwards of 60 million police and civilian interactions each year, right? What percentage of those interactions do think go awry, as in "bad cop" doing "bad things"?

You watch the news????
I remember a whole bunch of reporting about a “hands up” incident that never occurred as reported. News doesn’t always report the truth.
Being ignorant to what's happening with law enforcement doesn't help your argument.
Neither does creating more than there is.
Dirty cops all over the place!
When they chase the criminals through the mud, yeah.

WATCH THE VIDEO AND LISTEN TO THE AUDIO in this story in Illinois.

Your attempt to divert the convo isn't working.

The cop told the woman to tend to the boiling water. Then he acted as if he was threatened by it. Then he walked towards her and shot her in the head. There's absolutely no justification for this. Heck, they were there because she called them. When they didn't find anything, they could have just left.

Dude absolutely should have been arrested for murder (2nd degree in my state). I'm glad he was fired and charged.

Each incident, and each cop, need to be judged on their own merits. It's a bit unfair to generalize. That being said, there are way too many incidents, even in the body camera era, to claim it's isolated and infrequent. Some cops don't even seem to care they are likely being recorded.

No way to know.

Would you agree there are more incidents than year's past?

The George Floyd murder started this conversation. Then we had Kim Potter that doesn't know the difference between a taser and a gun.
BTW: Potter was a training officer.

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure if we look long enough we can find some good cops!

I think the data shows we don't really have to look long enough to find good cops. They are literally everywhere. Furthermore, you can't have it both ways (and by you, I mean the anti-gun folks) who say, "No need to own a gun. Just call the police". If the police are so darn untrustworthy and/or corrupt, then why on earth would I ever call one?

The majority of cops do a good job. However, why would there ever be reporting on good cops? When you watch the show COPS are you tuning in to watch cops issue traffic tickets, shoot hoops with the local neighborhood kids, recover a stolen bike, etc. or are you tuning in for the carnage?

And yes, my best friend is Anchorage PD and I live two doors down to a San Antonio PD officer.

Yep. A taser would have been more than sufficient. Pepper spray even better.
Both of those you need to close in on her.
In this situation he needed to keep his distance, not advance on her.
His best defense against someone with a pot of boiling water is distance.

Yup. She can only throw it once...keep backing up until she either:
  • Throws and misses
  • Sets it down
  • Or burns herself
Once any of those happens, then close your distance and restrain if/as necessary. I imagine regret set in about 30 sec after he pulled that trigger.

You made it more than this specific incident. Don’t make a claim if you don’t want to discuss it.

Didn't sound like much regret on the video.
