Craig Neal and the Fraud together again...

Perhaps it was that way when you checked, but I went there after reading your post and Alford's page says "Iowa" several times. The writing is otherwise horrible, though. Guess standards are low for athletic department web sites.

You and Legend were right, I evidently missed the reference to Iowa, not only once but twice. No excuses, just plain missed it.
One thing for sure, when Nevada plays New Mexico in Albuquerque in mid February, it will be quite the homecoming!

I just don't care what happens to Alford anymore - kinda sad imo that he still gets brought up. Unless we happened to play his team on the court someday, he's just totally irrelevant to me.
Sad how? I enjoyed seeing him fail at UCLA. Fans there figured him out pretty fast: Poor bench coach, can't motivate players, eventually throws them under bus. He was able to cover up the arrogance he showed at Iowa. Only in the neverland of college athletics would a guy of his character and skills be paid millions of dollars a year. Seeing him shown for what he is gives the sense that there is some justice in this world. Any criticism of Alford here always results in a post or two calling others 'sad' for not getting over him. Except for letting the writer feel morally superior, they are nonsensical.

im just tired of talking about him, he’s now 10 years in the past for us. I’m glad we all know him for the arrogant jerk he is, I’m just tired of dwelling on him.

Thought he was a great hire, but by year 2 it was pretty obvious he was in over his head. Tried to be supportive and be a good fan but I did come to the conclusion that a change needed to be made. I was wrong about him and so were a lot of other people. Big deal.
Actually, there were a lot of people who were right about Licklighter right from the start. Many of us knew he was over his head and his selection of his assistants cemented that thought. But, but, but he was the National Coach of the Year. Don't let the shiny stuff impress you so much and just maybe you won't have to justify your errors by including others.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

I used to be a fan of Hoiberg, but after taking the job at Nebraska, not so much anymore.
Well to me he's always been the "enemy", but he was one hell of a player at Ames and Iowa State. He seems like a humble and likeable guy to me. As an Iowan, I'll root for a guy like that.

The guy has put together one hell of a resume in the sport. I'll root against him when he's playing Iowa, and I won't be cheering on Nebraska because he's there, but if he ever wanted to Coach at Iowa I'd be all for it.

If you like Frauds you might have enjoyed watching Fred Hoyburger’s squad lose to UC Irvine at home by 19. His team had absolutely no clue what they were doing. No doubt he will whip them into shape. Bet those Husker are happy they canned Tim Miles who was a good guy and could actually coach.

Obvious miss here on the opportunity for "Fraud Hoyburger"
