The Dept of Human Health and Services has stated that this February has
seen the largest number of unaccompanied children under the age of 13
come to our Southern border. They predict a peak of 13,000 minors from
Central America will come this May. Obviously these children have been
welcomed by President Biden who has raised the limit to illegal immigrants
to 115,000 this year. This compares to 15,000 allowed by Trump in 2020.

I don’t pay close enough attention to border policies and regulations. Do they test everyone who crosses the border like this for Covid-19 and other diseases and illnesses? Trace their origins and family history? Do they let them in and turn them loose, or deny them entry?

There is that, but there are also desperate parents who pay these people to transport their children to the US and hopefully unite them with other relatives already in the US. Many times they take the last dollars of these people and dump the kids into the hands of these mules who take these kids straight into the sex trade. Those people should have their nuts cut off straight up.

Actually, this. My first question is why come to the USA? There have to be other countries to flee to that would be safe. Why not stop in Mexico? Why not just pass through the USA and go to Canada? Canada has some awesome social programs like free healthcare.

I'm guessing it's because other countries have laws and don't tolerate illegal immigration and we do.

But back to what I quoted, I'd have no problem if the USA overthrew some of these corrupt governments and set up puppet governments that would treat their people well. We could take all our manufacturing out of China and send it to Central America and Mexico and solve two problems at once.

They do test them for Covid, and I would assume other infectious diseases. Then they hold them in temporary facilities near the border until they can find family or a sponsor (i.e. foster) in the US until their asylum hearing can be scheduled.
