Cybertruck

It is ugly
It is too big
It is too heavy
It is just a concept
It is just a distraction
It is just a show truck
It can't be used for real work
It will never go into production
It can't be mass-manufactured
It will never be allowed on roads
It will never be sold
It has no demand

It outsells the sales of all other EV pickups combined you idiots! <—(We are now here)

I saw a red one on the road yesterday and I must admit, it looked slightly less stupid than the stainless steel ones.

Lies. You’re such a dipshit.
Article was posted without comment, so what are the lies? How/Why am I dipshit? If you have information that counters the specific claims made by the author, feel free to post them instead of getting caught up in your feels. As for name calling…grow TF up.

The order book of reservations for the “foundation series” ended, now they are starting to allow reservations to order non-foundation series. The “author” conflated the two to lie and mislead you. But go on and believe whatever you want.

If he is telling the truth their deliveries SHOULD drop off a cliff in the next couple months, right?

Let’s see what happens.

On the name calling, when you spread obvious falsehoods, i think you are a dipshit.

Obvious falsehoods that you have no data for and even state, “Let’s see what happens.”
If it is obvious, show your work.

You have always been able to reserve non-foundation series cybertucks. Obvious evidence of this was Tesla reaching out to non-foundation reservation holders trying to get them to bump their reservation to the foundation series, getting them closer to the front of the line.

Tesla has also just dropped the initial cost of both models by $20k. Interesting timing to say the least (with the story of order book clear/diminished). This will also have an impact on deliveries number in the short term (shot in the arm possibly), so not a great metric to go off of when trying to prove your point near term.

You spread falsehoods on this forum all the time. So I assume you consider yourself a dipshit. The truth is, you are a blind fanboy that is incapable of having an adult conversation. You simply lack the intelligence and maturity to keep up, so you resort to name calling. Be better.

All of this is wrong.

From the article:

AWD version: Price slashed to $79,990, down from $99,990, for the Cybertruck AWD with a dual motor. EPA estimated range is 325 miles.

Cyberbeast: Price cut to $99,990, down from $119,990, on Tesla’s high-end, high-performance CT. This has a tri-motor and an EPA estimated range of 301 miles and comes with a “premium” interior, among other extras.

Reservations and availability: along with the price drop, the conventional wisdom is that reservations have dried up.

Standard series AWD was always $80K. They made up a package for $20K and offered it to those folks that wanted to take delivery as soon as possible. $80K + $20K. Now the trim levels are returning to their original price without the add-on package.

$80K AWB
$100K Beast

They simply removed the requirement to buy the add on package to the two trims that are available to purchase. $80K/$100K are/were the formal starting price before options & add-ons.

Its the misrepresentations i object to not the literal price changes that are presented without context. The price of purchasing just the vehicle has not changed.

Liars do that stuff. You trumpet them.

They were only selling the 100k and 120k versions of the AWD and Cyberbeast. So the actual “starting price” until recently was 100k and 120k. Now you are able to truly start at 80k and 100k. Cope however you would like, but those are the facts.

Versions= Foundation series. If this is what you are now arguing, it’s obvious you have nothing left. Wave the flag.

Goddamn Elon Musk for ::checks notes:: lowering the price of vehicles.

Why didn't he just sell it at a lower price initially and let resellers get the profits?!?
He initially tried blocking resell. Resell market tanked in short order anyways.

I’m also not arguing against lowering the price point, but maybe you need a 134 IQ or higher to see that.

No, it doesn’t. It proves my point you stupid ****. Now **** off.
What’s the cheapest price you could pay to have a cyber beast delivered, from Tesla, to you in March of 2024?

What’s the cheapest price you could pay to have a cyber beast delivered, from Tesla, to you in November of 2024?

My initial comment for reference:

“Tesla has also just dropped the initial cost of both models by $20k.”

What do the used prices look like when you search?

Do you know what they were going for earlier this year? $200k. Are those prices higher or lower than $200k?

My bad, didn't see the second link.

I'm not familiar with the options, how does the price of that one compare to purchasing the same from Tesla?
No worries, was added as an edit.

That one would have been $100k “base.”

The point:

Elon threatened new cybertruck owners about reselling/flipping their vehicles. He had reason(s) to not want a 2nd market that would “upcharge” for his product. Ultimately, that period of $160k to $200k cybertrucks was fairly short lived. Production/Delivery schedule from Tesla probably alleviated demand for after market buyers willing to over pay (waited their turn or just got in line).

Slightly off-topic: car sales, both new and used, are wild right now. Trying to buy an older land cruiser, and I may as well buy a brand new GX.
