Early in the illannoy game, Dailey hit a corner 3 pointer, then immediately turned around and gestured toward some orange clad buffoons sitting courtside. It appeared that at least one of them flipped a middle finger at Dailey. Wondering if anyone else saw this too. Was truly hoping as the blowout progressed that Dailey or some other Hawkeyes might remind the miscreants of the score, but it didn't happen.

Scoreboard is the best revenge. In today's game where everything is reviewed and a zillion camera angles, really can't get caught up in mouthing off to fans or the opponent. I'm sure those Illini fans sitting there deserved it, glad Dailey and the rest of the team didn't do much in reaction.

The Illini fan is still pissed about the 63-0 drubbing they took from the Iowa Hawkeye football team in Champaign. The Iowa men beat them twice, once by 25 and another by 21. Ladies beat the crynin illini by 19 and 22. OUCH!!!!!!!

The fan was talking trash to him down the court and before his shot. He made the shot and gave him a look. Fan flipped him off. That’s all. I don’t mind heckling some but nothing personal or gestures.

JBo had words with Ayo. Ayo was talking trash to him at halftime buzzer. JBo’s reply was “Scoreboard”. Enough said.

How about Iowa running out the clock with walk-on reserves at the end of the game and the Illinois guy shoves the Hawkeye who's just standing there with the ball with a couple of seconds to play? That was typical Illinois jerk. The refs let it go, but I thought they should have given the kid a T. That was just plain BS. Illinois is about as classless as they come. Glad the Hawkeyes ran 'em outta the gym again.

Maishe seems like a class individual, good kid, good teammate, good citizen...we are lucky to have him on our team and representing the U of I.

It been a pretty tough season for Maishe with the Dolph stuff and all. Easy for fans to say “just block it out” or “use it for motivation “but it’s not as easy as we’d like to think it is. I think it it added a little extra pressure to him. I went back and forth with a poster on here how he was lamenting how “valuable “ it would be to have Brady Ellingson instead Maishe coming off the bench this year. I disagreed. While Maishe has struggled with his shot at times he has given valuable defensive play at times. Only Baer is better at the point in the full court press.

Should be expected with a coach that looks like he should be selling fake Rolex’s in Manhattan

Illannoy fans have been getting what they deserve. New meaning to "orange crush".

I hope their freshmen have some strong NBA aspirations...

Truth....that kid shoving our guy was stupid.....I also thought that the two guys who were banging into Connor with the whole Tech foul under the basket thing were cheap shots....then the camera showed them sitting over on the bench yucking it up....classless and dirty play.

I HATE HAND CHECKING and specifically the hand on the hip to control the offensive guy and then the reach in and even grabbing the hand/wrist of the hand that is not dribbling....repeatedly right out on the top of the key where it is easy to see.

Makes me wonder if a technical has ever been called/assessed after the final buzzer. Just think if a team lost on an after the buzzer technical negating the need for overtime. Can that even happen?

Honestly though I am wondering if the guy was initially upset at no call when Garza pushed the guy out of the way while positioning for the rebound.

I will never understand the mentality of people that like to verbally attack an individual player on the floor.

Russell Westbrook would completely agree with your statement. As mentioned later about that fan being talked to by security last night I'm sure more arenas will be more proactive after that incident in Utah this week.

How depressing must it be to be an Illinois fan.

What was said and/or done? The clip wouldn't play for me.

It showed Daily making his three in the corner. As he was running back on defense he looked back at some fans sitting in the front row and one of them stood up and flipped Daily off. You can't tell what was said.

Totally agree. Hand checking is lazy defense that unfortunately allowed way too much.

Yeah Maishe sure gets bashed a lot for the 9th player in the rotation playing 6-8 minutes a game.

Thought it was away over the top when Andy Katz made the pregame claim that Georgie would be the best player on the court. Now if he had said dirtiest, I would jump on that bandwagon. In fact, I've got to believe that Underwood teaches his kids that the smack to the face is a key defensive tool. It seems to happen so frequently. Watching this game just renewed my hatred of all things Illini, and putting them in their place again was extremely satisfying.

I went to a Kansas City Royals game against the Cardinals once, and sat in the outfield stands. Some KC "fans" were mercilessly berating Jon Jay, the Cardinals CF, presumably for the crime of being the closest one to them. I'm sure similar situations occur in about every game, in every stadium.

Nothing screams "jackass!" to me like the sight of someone verbal abusing someone else just because it's "fun".
