I was in Ottumwa all day and now wish I would have hunted down the OP slapped him for being a vag.
 
I'm with you OP. I dont cry or anything every time I hear it, but I got two young boys and think of the song often when I am too busy to do something with them.
 
I have two from that era that cause me to pause...."It Never Rains in California" and "If You're goin' to San Francisco"....I also enjoy Chapin's "Taxi"....."she handed me a $20 bill for a $2.50 fare and said, "Harry, keep the change.'"
Devil...I believe we all have a "Sue" somewhere in our past.

The song is haunting when you factor in Harry's tragic death.
"Taxi" is memorable, as well. ........"flyin' so high, when I'm stoned"......

Another good one by Harry. "Dreams Go By" looking back at his lifelong relationship with his wife.
