Yep, it was in a quote from a presentation he did to their equivalent of our I-Club. It was the reason I went from rooting for them when they weren't playing Iowa to actively rooting against them.
That doesn't surprise me one bit. I don't like Pollard, but give the man credit, he plays their fanbase like a fiddle.
Clone fans picked that date to avoid counting the Hawks’ 2 Rose Bowl wins. Otherwise Iowa would have 3 major bowl wins to ISU’s 1.
They also never mention major bowl appearances……because it looks even worse for ISU at 6 to 1 (since 1958….8-1 overall).

EDIT: Nevermind. After reading responses that it was at a booster event, I can see him saying something like that at a booster event. Especially if it is in Cedar Rapids, which I have attended all of them. I doubt it was exactly as stated, but it's the kind of thing you hear at these events.

I understood that. It just didn't sound like something he would say in public. But when it was revealed it was at a booster meeting, I can see him saying things similar to this. He's not the only one that does that kind of thing when surrounded by boosters.
