Can we all agree that DEI is a good thing but Corporations and Governments should not make people take quarterly tests, push it endlessly on their websites homepage to make them seem not racist or something, act like they should get an award because they hired “X” number of these many people, etc…

Wouldn’t a simple blurb in the “who we are” section of the website be enough?

No, we can't! It's getting people killed every ****ing day, hindering production and destroying morale! Please go fly from/to a busy airport where the control tower is staffed with trannys because they are trannys!!

There would be no DEI if there was no discrimination to begin with. If you didn't want DEI training then you probably shouldn't have been racist and homophobic in the first place.
Weird take. I don't need "training" to be kind to my fellow man, treating them with dignity and respect. As with all my annual training, I press play on the video, hit mute, then take the test at the end which doesn't take a rocket surgeon to pass.

Are you familiar with the old adage "a cure in search of a problem?"

Hell, go read the "do you know a racist" thread, even the examples given are all old people. It's not a thing for anyone functioning in a 2025 society.

You may not, but many do. Many need training that homo and women are stupid jokes in the workplace are a bad idea.

Disagree that DEI is a good thing. On another board I frequent, a guy in HR for Phillips 66 was bragging about how they’d met their LGBTQMAP hiring goals. Asked him what one guy sticking his dick in another guy’s butthole had to do with retrieving fossil fuels from the earth, refining them into usable products, and bringing them to the market. Never got a straight answer (pun intended).

Yeah, that training just causes resentment towards the cause-counter productive….

Case in point @Huey Grey ☝️

How does spending $$ on training fix this? People are who they are.

You, Doofus, are one of the reasons we have DEI training. Nice job….

95% of the training at the employee level about like microagressions and white fragility and white supremacist concepts like punctuality is utter bullshit, does nothing to improve the work environment for anyone, and has been proven ineffective years on.

Efforts at the management level to make sure you are hiring from a diverse pool of applicants and trying not to get siloed into just hiring from a handful of schools or through networking with employees who are already working there is a good thing. Companies should have policies to make sure QUALIFIED candidates from certain communities aren't falling through the cracks.

No. DEI is much more infectious and far reaching than what you're describing in general. No hiring bench marks, No counter productive "trainings", etc

No

If you're not excluding, why do you have to mess with including?

Isn't one dark, tar filled hole like another? Maybe "those folks" are just better at knowing where to drill and how deep to sink the shaft!!

The sad thing is it wouldn't be necessary at all if so many people weren't asshats.

Like most other "movements" the true believers send the pendulum too far one way and the reactionaries send it back too far the other and everyone acts like a dickhead in the interim until it settles somewhere in the middle.

IMO, it's value is entirely dependent on the situation and location. At massive institutions that will by nature have a more diverse workforce keeping up on DEI training can lead to better staffing situations and give clearer expectations of workplace decorum and communication.

In a moderate sized manufacturing plant in a more rural area, the juice probably won't be worth the squeeze.

Lost in a lot of these conversations is how these types of trainings and efforts tend to be semi-voluntary and directed at management level employees. Because of that I don't see it as any different than the number of other management training books/series/seminars that are consistently being offered.
