I will say, most conservatives I know have been historically pretty paranoid about their data and what “big gubmint” could do with it. Many of them are old. Many of them are technically illiterate. Many of them are just the paranoia/conspiracy type. The fact that everyone is so blasé about what is reportedly happening with Eloon is amazing. The directive route to him being a trillionaire was to use his money like every other smart person does and just play the game with larger stakes to eventually get there. Instead, he built the world's leading space program and figured out a way to get shitty places the internet. Now I'm not saying f Eloon is some savior but if he goal was "be a trillionaire" he would do what the money says to do and already be there. Money means little to him, he is like a child in that sense.

What would you think if George Soros took a team of young hotshots and got access to the same data Elon has? Would that be acceptable in your mind without bipartisan congressional oversight?

Do you think Elon won’t use his learnings to get an unfair advantage in government procurement? Do you think Elon might use his insider info to make bets in the market - bets that he can completely influence (say by shorting the stock of a company he is about to defund out of the budget)?
I think they are doing exactly what they said they were going to do and evaluate the government. Crimes are crimes no matter who finds them. It comes down to that trust word, do I trust eloon more than sorts, yes, but I also see Soros as one of those "15 year" guys I spoke of earlier.
