You know....I took a moment this morning and tried to honestly think (as a conservative) about how I would be feeling if say, Soros was doing this for Biden or Harris. And you are spot on. If that were happening, I would be losing my freaking mind. Ugh.

I think (hope) a lot of the cheering it all on - particularly from randos on the internet - is just "ownin' the libs" bravado from the MAGA bros. I am all for scrutiny in spending, cutting bloat, and reducing our deficit. But we have laws, we have policies, we have privacy protections, and we have the constitution. It's the framework of our society. You don't trample those with the means to justify the ends.
It's such an odd thing to see anyone cheer on what's happening right now. But then I think of how much respect I have for many of my fellow Americans and say "yah, makes sense."
To my point above - in your mind are laws, policies, privacy protections, and the constitution "establishment?"
Fwiw, I'm hoping we hear "we have heard some concerns and have decided to allow rep xxxx and rep xxxx to WATCH as these events unfold." I won't hold my breath.
What are your thoughts when the people (i.e. the "establishment") chooses to ignore laws, policies, privacy protections, and the constitution in an effort to meet an end? Is it ever justified? And if so, under what circumstances?
You must be just shaking your head then over what's transpired over the last few days. IG firings not following the policy and process, EOs attempting to over-ride a constitutional amendment, data access demands not following proper clearance / policies....just to name a few.
