Derrick Foster will coach RBs, Brian Ferentz will coach TEs

Shortly after the Foster hire, it was announced just the opposite: Foster TEs, Ferentz still RBs. Was that a mistake in the announcement, or is today's revelation new?

I saw that too. Don't remember who wrote that but I think they were mistaken or mixed up there coaches.

Im pumped to see what comes of the new hire. Get him down thar in the Dirty South so we can get some of the big time recruits.

It may have been assumed by a writer, but was never announced officially by Iowa.

It's a smart move ... both in terms of recruiting ... and in terms of development at both spots. Being a former C and having all his prior experience, Brian may have been able to help players know where to expect their blocks to develop. However, he simply didn't have a lot of specific experience when it came to teaching the RBs the "tricks of the trade." Given that Foster has coached RBs before (in addition to WRs) ... he'll likely be able to address the more technique oriented questions that the RB throw his way.

Obviously, Brian has the past experience with the TEs too ... that's more of a natural fit for him.

Jury is out on both of these fronts, we will see if the RB develop under his tutelage and we will find out next year what kind of recruiting connections he has,
What we do know at this point is Wallace tried to open Georgia and we sent Woods down as well and have done below average I would think you all would agree.
Hopefully this addition is bountiful, but just like any recruit we would get, accolades are great but until you see them do it you never are quite sure what you have....
