As soon as they promoted blue checks, every scammer on the planet got a blue check. Every FSU post has bootleg merch all over it.

I swear one of the reasons Elon bought Twitter was to get rid of the bots and instead he makes it worse

I get Hawkeye sports and related...and rare insults and Midwest vs. everybody...
I hadn't had a single added follower that wasn't human in years. No bots, no porn trolls, not sales/grifter sites, nothing, only real people. Now, every time I tweet, respond or quote/retweet something, I get 3-4 new followers that aren't actual human people.
That part is irritating, but the worse part is when you see a user pushing blatantly false info, or pushing hyper racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic, etc ideas, you report it and all that happens is they put a community warning there and do nothing about the actual content of the tweet or user.
I reported a user posting horribly/graphically antisemitic tweets. Ranging from "The holocaust was fake" to "Hitler didn't go far enough" along with picture of Jews, many well known, along with saying, literally, that we need to kill all of them. Nothing. Still tweeting it, still being shockingly offensive, and no action from Musk's people.

Same here. Always the cypto and porn bots in my requests and replies. Don't recall it hardly happening prior to the switch to X. I was hoping BlueSky would take off, but it hasn't.
I don't follow any political stuff. Sports mostly. So, I've rarely seen the toxic back and forth over the years, but I can't avoid it now. I don't see many posts, but they are in my replies/mentions/requests and the constant barrage of crappy ads even after I remove them is just terrible.
I got the invite this summer and been on it, but it's just not that great for sports/entertainment... not yet anyway. Once it is I have zero need for X.

I mainly use X over the other social media platforms. It is hilarious how the left as gotten so upset at Musk. The X experience is totally different if you want to only see the posts from the people you follow vs the other mode.
Here is the thing with X, if you click on porn links repeatedly you will get more porn links. If you check the area that says you aren’t interested in the topic, you don’t see it anymore. It’s that simple.

The only difference I notice is that news articles will say "formerly known as Twitter". Didn't use it before, don't use it now.
Long story short my wife found a buggy for sale on Facebook. ( those things are anywhere from 700 to 1500 new, goly shit dis that surprise me) listed for 200 bucks, she was all excited and it does appear to be a good deal but my immediate reaction was "do real people still use facebook". Crazy.

Hatred for Elon aside is it that bad? Besides this site I quit all forms of social media about 2 years ago so I honestly don't know. I really only miss Twitter/X during football season for when Marc, Scott, Chad

I do miss being able to read tweets for specific accounts and responses without having to have an account.
The @fanaticssucks Twitter account was a hilarious rabbit hole to go down occasionally.
Not worth creating an account and giving elon my information to do that.
