Did he kill her?

I just don’t think you kill someone and then drive back to your house. Obviously that’s the most likely scenario, but something seems off.

Another video of the closing door on the van

Ok-this is some hollywood movie stuff. Turns out the couple who shot the video-found it on their dead son's 17th birthday. Even posted before she was found they felt it was him trying to help. Found it at 12:05 AM posted it early morning. Then posted the following before body was found 1000 feet away

"It’s a VERY big day!
I truly believe that Ethan is trying to help us bring Gabby home. He led me to the footage we had from our go pros and I found it at 12:05am on September 19th.
Today is September 19th and Ethan’s birthday. He would have turned 17 today.
I’m not going to be sad that he isn’t here with us today because he did the biggest #payitforwardforethan thing imaginable…. He helped us find this footage. I wholeheartedly believe that.
I just love that kid so very much. Happy Birthday Ethan, you continue to amaze us even from Heaven

The whole situation has just been odd which is part of the reason why this case has gotten so much attention. A text came from Gabby's phone saying no reception in Yosemite on the 30th. This was never a destination, the next stop was to be Yellowstone. Brian likely sent that text, and she had already passed away back in the Tetons. My guess is the parents have been trying to protect their son, personally I think their behavior has been abhorrent, but I can understand in the moment why they would do it. I will be curious if they will be charged with anything, my guess is that is not likely. The real question is when and if they find Brian and is he still alive. My guess is we will get resolution on that in the next couple days. Now that Gabby has been found, all resources will now be on finding Brian.

That'll probably fry him.

If she died from natural causes from the two of them splitting up and him leaving her somewhere, he might not be guilty of anything. But feigning she was still alive and sending a "cover my ass" text message isn't a good look.

This was posted at 8pm last night. I didn't post b/c I wasn't sure if it was a credible source. I'm still not. He had another post around midnight, which he since deleted, that said the FBI would have arrest warrants for the parents.

There were other campers less than 1/4 mile away, exposure is not likely. I do agree the environment would not be suitable for most to survive for extended periods, gets too cold at night. You can continue to look at odd theories, but the most likely outcome is she died from actions from Brian. If it was drugs or any other natural occurrence he should have called the cops in immediately. So one thing I heard was that they could identify some tattoos. If they can identify tattoos the body it lends that an autopsy may be able to discern the cause of death.
I didn't come up with the exposure theory; a local (Wyoming) TV station did. I'm not trying to claim something else happened. I've only said it was too early to rush to judgement. While those of you that have rushed to judgement are likely going to end up being right, you could also still be wrong.

You jump to so many conclusions on various topics that it's mind boggling. You even jump to conclusions about posts when all you have to do is actually read the posts. I'm going to make an assumption about you - you are a narcissist. I always prefer to wait and see, even when can totally believe a theory.

I'm a narcissist, thats funny coming from you - since other board individuals have basically stated you are the one that thinks you are better than everyone else. Here is the thing, you have ignored all the other times where I have admitted there have been other possibilities, while also generally guiding to the most likely outcome. That you think I should wait on make those assumptions is what . . . This is a message board, it is meant to speculate, whether sports, or other topics such as this. You have generally been on the theory no crime has been proven yet and Brian and his family isn't required to assist. Look this is not a court. I am not convicting the man on a charge, I also admit I don't know fully what happened. However with the FBI now executing a warrant on the parents house, taking the parents from the house, will be performing an autopsy we will see what happens.

Look at the above post I stated why exposure wasn't likely. Stating there are individuals nearby, stating the most likely outcome was a cause from Brian - what is wrong with that statement and why did you go off the deep end? Take a breath and do your wait and see approach.

How is he getting out of the country without a passport? Also, he would have to have loads of cash. His cards and accounts and cell phone will all be traced.

I know a dude who rode a jet ski to the Bahamas from Palm Beach. He probably has friends with a boat. Could be in the Caribbean, Cuba, Central America......South America

I am really surprised they didn't tail the guy.

I am too. Almost makes me wonder if parents lied whole time and he was never there by time cops showed up?

But then again, we had a horrific case here in Tallahassee few years back where they used a young college girl who they had busted for selling pot to help bust the larger dealers and decided to escalate by her selling them guns. They suspected, threw her in car, took off and the surveilling police lost them. They killed her and dumped her body in the county hours later.

Great, but Idgas. I've read portions of, at most, two articles. Almost everything I know about the whole thing I picked up from skimming through this thread while drinking & watching football. I spend approximately zero amount of time obsessing about crap like this.
Cool

I went down a rabbit hole last night on twitter. The amount of people saying law enforcement and the media are racist because there are missing POC ladies that don't get this attention is mindboggling.
I think we need to look at our societal tendancies even our own actions regarding this topic, enforces some biases slightly. Why do we find a white young girl missing worthy of our attention? If the media sees a story is clicking with its base its going to continue to air it. In the last 6 years I am aware of 3 missing womens cases that have become mainstream, Papini, Tibbetts, and now Gabby Petito. No minorities that I am aware of. We obviously know there have been minority cases that have likely had even crazier stories than this one. I don't know what the answer is, but more resources have been put on this case than most missing cases due partially to the media and the publics interest in the case.

In this crazy world I find none of this shocking anymore. You know what I find shocking? Is there a proliferation of people driving around with GoPro cameras live and filming on their vehicles? Just how many people out there are v-loggers? Are we all constantly under camera surveillance and we just don't know it?

I mean, this case appears to have been broken open by some guy driving around out in the middle of nowhere with a GoPro running on his dash for his YouTube channel. Seriously, what are the odds that at that exact moment in time there would be a camera rolling out in the middle of bumbf*!k nowhere?

Did the Breasia Terrell case here in the QC ever get "mainstream"? I know it certainly was front and center on the local channels for months.

Yes, there are tons of people who just v-log, especially couples who have decided to not do the 9-5 thing and live out of a camper / RV, and are (at least somewhat) are financially supported from YouTube or a blog.

The fact that people are found typically within a few days is the norm now. Heck, 10 years ago we'd likely have not found Petito's remains until someone stumbled on a discerning piece of clothing while wandering around, which likely would have been years later. Now with constant surveillance / digital tracking / social media... I don't think we'll have another Jodi Huisentruit in the US, for example.

I think the fact that the FBI has at least 12 agents all over that house means the parents will be charged with something I believe. Lying to the FBI will get you sent to the Principals office for sure.

There is possibility they could charge as an accessory to murder, or giving false information to law enforcement. In general though parents are not charged, but this is an odd case. I would imagine they are going to put all types of pressure on the parents to find Brian.

Maybe that's why. Or perhaps the media is racist.

That article is such crap. You want to know the the problem? Vast, vast majority of those missing NA cases is because they were perpetrated by a fellow NA. Secondly, tribal sovereignty. The tribes have their own law enforcement officers and are not always quick to invite in state or federal authorities. The reservations have a tendency to keep things internal.

Aiding and abetting possibly.

Saw an older study that said the avg American is on camera 238 times a week. Undoubtedly, that is higher now.

Might be less crime if we taught a class in school title “you likely will not get away with it”.

cameras all over the places, cars with onStar type systems that track even when you don’t subscribe, smart watches, phones, computers that have IP addresses of wifi used, and many many other things.

Just think the Molly Tibbetts case was broke in a similar manner. A house owner had security camera that captured Molly running, and then a car following after her. I agree with a previous poster that stated it is nearly impossibly to get away with most crimes anymore due to technological advances and surveillance of nearly everything anymore.

So they aren't really missing? Is that what you are saying?
