Displaying an American flag is rejected at Public School

So now our school's are wanting to ban the students from flying the American flag as well.

The principle mentions "it's not an unpatriotic act" but isn't it "unpatriotic" to ban the US Flag?

They are still displaying the American flag at the school.

They are banning other displays of the American flag but I can understand where they are coming from. A great argument can be made for only displaying the American flag and restricting all others on the official flag pole. When you have someone bring an American flag to an event then you run into letting everyone clamoring to fly the flag of their cause of the day.

I can see not allowing an ISIS flag, or a North Korean flag - but the US Flag at the expense of being expelled? This country has turned into wussies - that is the ONE flag that should be allowed.

I am guessing then that the kids or parents or fans are not allowed to fly the school support flags then either.

Guess it's just my "old way of thinking" and being patriotic...

Didn't say is good just that school districts are placed in a no win situation now and I think this school and district handled better than others.

High school was a long time ago for me but I don't remember having a school support flag. Maybe they came after I graduated.

I don't support disrespecting the flag - I support being able to fly the AMERICAN flag, which this principle has taken away.

what would be great is if the kids got inventive and painted their cars with red\white\blue just to spite him. That would be "flying" the flag.
