Divisions - is the BIG missing an opportunity?

It wasnt long after the Pac 12 Four joined the Big 10 to make it an 18 team conf that I thought the Big would soon add 2 more teams to make 4 divisions. Four divisions means 2 Big Ten semi-final playoff games leading to the Big Champ game and more money.

And to get back to your main point 4 five team divisions will keep more fans involved in until later in the year as to whether their team might win a division and get is a semifinal game
Well I guess since the Big Ten has mutated from coast-to-coast, and now has half the NCAA sucked in, maybe we do need a playoff. This super ultra mega conference shit is really stupid and money ruins everything. Remember when it was weird that Penn State joined? Now look.

Those west teams are not going to keep traveling back and forth ike this while east teams go west once. No way this lasts. Look at Washington's schedule or UCLA's, just stupid really.
I saw an article in SI last week (wish I could find it) that talked about how the West Coast teams were already having challenges with the travel demands. Big surprise. Wait til basketball season.

I dont like the Big 10 field now as the OP said, Iowa is not playing for much now except to win games and get a bowl.

If they were in a division instead of one of 18 teams they could maybe be still in the run for a division title and a semi-final playoff game.

As fans we want them to make a bowl game so we can see them play again and I would like to see them win a division again and get in a Big 10 playoff or Champ game
