My memory is a little fuzzy nowadays, but I think Dix is more like Bobby Hansen than Marble Jr. All 3 really good guards.
Completely a non factor against the first team with athletes. He’s been bad tonight.Convince me he’s not an All Big player. Because you’re wrong. Most complete player in the Fran era.
Dix dribbled down his leg, lost balls, and failed to score.Completely a non factor against the first team with athletes. He’s been bad tonight.
Yep. He seemed to be hesitant on offense.Completely a non factor against the first team with athletes. He’s been bad tonight.
Fran said on postgame that Josh hurt his wrist.
Who cares. He's already proven himself plenty of times against much better competition last year.Completely a non factor against the first team with athletes. He’s been bad tonight.
Dix dribbled down his leg, lost balls, and failed to score.
Or it was just a bad game, who knows.I agree, Dix has proven himself and was hurt during the first half. I REALLY like this team. Time will tell to see how good they can be.
GO HAWKS!!!
He just needed a blow....Dix dribbled down his leg, lost balls, and failed to score.
My high school life summed up in one sentence. Fortunately college life was better.Dix dribbled down his leg, lost balls, and failed to score.
Good amendment. Keegan is the most complete play in the Fran era. I love Josh's game, but not ready to say he is the most complete guard yet. If he plays like the last third of last year or better, yes. Most of those guys weren’t complete players. Certainly not Garza , White, Cook, Weiskamp or Perkins. Keegan and Marble probably are fair points, although I don’t think Marble could defend as well. I probably should amend to say most complete guard in the Fran era.
I hope he can be the all around player that Bobby Hansen was. He has a ways to go to reach that level. My memory is a little fuzzy nowadays, but I think Dix is more like Bobby Hansen than Marble Jr. All 3 really good guards.
Josh hurt himself on a drive to the rim where he was fouled. Was able to hit both FTs, but kept messing with his wrist and had it taped.
Hansen played with more of an attitude. I think Dix has similar skills, if he develops the confidence and aggressive play that Hansen brought.I hope he can be the all around player that Bobby Hansen was. He has a ways to go to reach that level.
They have a lot of physical and skill set similarities for sure. They're both big 6"6" guards that can score at all 3 levels and defend well. Bobby had one of the best NBA careers of any Hawk in the last 40 years, so yeah, he has a ways to go, but not as far as some would think. Statistically he's much better than Bobby ever was at Iowa.I hope he can be the all around player that Bobby Hansen was. He has a ways to go to reach that level.
Bobby was a clutch player and a better athlete than people thought. He also was an excellent ball handler/passer. When he was a freshman there were a couple of occasions after Ronnie got hurt and Arnold was fighting off injuries that Bobby stepped in and played the point guard and did a very good job. They have a lot of physical and skill set similarities for sure. Agreed. Bobby was great and a friend of mine. We both came into school in '78.Bobby was a clutch player and a better athlete than people thought. He also was an excellent ball handler/passer. That’s a really good comparison. Hansen was a hellacious defender as well.My memory is a little fuzzy nowadays, but I think Dix is more like Bobby Hansen than Marble Jr. All 3 really good guards.
I agree great comparison same height tooThat’s a really good comparison. Hansen was a hellacious defender as well.
You’re pushing it. Big time!Do i dare say Thelwell reminds me of Kenny Arnold?
He graduated from high school in 1979.Agreed. Bobby was great and a friend of mine. We both came into school in '78.
Pretty sure freshmen year was 79’ for Bobby.Agreed. Bobby was great and a friend of mine. We both came into school in '78.
This is correct. 79’ HS state basketball champs 3A Dowling led by Bobby, 2A Regis, 1A Regina led by Mark Gannon. He graduated from high school in 1979.
Yep. I was there watching. Unfortunately not playing. This is correct. 79’ HS state basketball champs 3A Dowling led by Bobby, 2A Regis, 1A Regina led by Mark Gannon.
