Dix

Interesting that Dix has been primary ball handler the past couple of possessions late in game with Thelwell in the game. 2 Dix assists for Thelwell 3s. Nice.

I agree, Dix has proven himself and was hurt during the first half. I REALLY like this team. Time will tell to see how good they can be.

GO HAWKS!!!

Or it was just a bad game, who knows.

But when hes already performed the way he did last year against teams like Illinois, bringing up "athletes" now is just silly.

He needs some ice baby!

Watching the game, you could see something was wrong with Josh. I didn't see anything happen, and thought maybe he was sick. Add in that Payton and Pryce couldn't hit a shot and Freeman sat for much of the first half, and this was a very good win. Thelwell needs more minutes than Harding, who still can be a valuable part of the rotation.

Most of those guys weren’t complete players. Certainly not Garza , White, Cook, Weiskamp or Perkins. Keegan and Marble probably are fair points, although I don’t think Marble could defend as well. I probably should amend to say most complete guard in the Fran era.
Good amendment. Keegan is the most complete play in the Fran era. I love Josh's game, but not ready to say he is the most complete guard yet. If he plays like the last third of last year or better, yes.

When he has size advantage, like a true big, dix uses his pivot well to put a shot in the face of an opponent.

Josh hurt himself on a drive to the rim where he was fouled. Was able to hit both FTs, but kept messing with his wrist and had it taped.

Yep, had it taped in the second half, but at some point the tape was removed for the final 4-5 minutes. He either thought he was done for the night (doubtful) or it was bothering him more with the tape. A little odd. Hopefully nothing that lingers.

I hope he can be the all around player that Bobby Hansen was. He has a ways to go to reach that level.
They have a lot of physical and skill set similarities for sure. They're both big 6"6" guards that can score at all 3 levels and defend well. Bobby had one of the best NBA careers of any Hawk in the last 40 years, so yeah, he has a ways to go, but not as far as some would think. Statistically he's much better than Bobby ever was at Iowa.

Bobby was a clutch player and a better athlete than people thought. He also was an excellent ball handler/passer. When he was a freshman there were a couple of occasions after Ronnie got hurt and Arnold was fighting off injuries that Bobby stepped in and played the point guard and did a very good job.

Agreed. Bobby was great and a friend of mine. We both came into school in '78.
