Down goes Nebraska

If Nebraska is serious about basketball, Tim Miles will be fired at the end of the season.

Does anyone remember all the love and mutual admiration society that had developed for Miles even on our board after his year 2 run to the tourney? Seems like eons ago.

When I watch Miles teams they commit to defense but there so many times where offensively they cannot throw it in the ocean. Really boring basketball.

They were complete opposite at CSU.

Yeah, I remember and it was sickening. You would have thought he was the next John Wooden. Having said that I thought he would be doing better. Somewhat ambivalent because I want the BIG to do good out of the conference. But I love to see their teams struggle.

We lost at home to Omaha. Not sure we should be the ones to ridicule their loss

Omaha is #157 according to Kenpom. We were and are young and learning. I think, just my opinion, we can ridicule Nebraska. And I agree with the poster who said if they are serious Miles will be gone. That way, if he gets a job out east, he can "pass Iowa" on his way to his new job! :)

Remember Lick? When your studs bolt the end is near.

Yep. Your best players leaving is never good, but especially in what Miles is trying to do at Nebraska. Losing White this year was devastating. Imagine this Iowa team without Jok. Not good.

I actually like some of the talent on this year's Nebraska team. Watson, Morrow and McVeigh are all sophomores with talent. And Taj Webster is having a very good year. Putting White into that mix would have put them squarely in the middle of the pack B1G mix.

My guess is that the earlier than expected success at Nebraska gave Miles a false impression of what sort of foundation was laid. He returned both Shields and Pettway off the NCAA team, and the team just imploded the following year. Team seemed to think they had arrived when they hadn't.

Miles only knows how to coach one end of the floor. I made fun of Petteway for being a chucker but that was probably better than any set that Timmy can draw up.

That's an accurate summary right there
