From that replay, I don't think you can tell whether there is foul or not on Pryce's shot. They didn't seem to have any cameras other than the 1/2 court camera which is a long way from the play.
That's a foul all game. You can't touch a shooters' elbow or body him out of bounds. The refs didn't want to decide the game. That's how it goes.Michigan player walking off like he’s looking or waiting for the flag to be thrown.
With the first week of Big Ten play in the books, this season could still go either way for Iowa. There are reasons to be optimistic or not.
That's straight up suckage. This team is shooting 66% from the free throw line this season. Excluding Payton and Dix, the rest of the team is shooting just 57%. We would be ranked 309th out of 364 on team FT%
Sorry, but I don't care if the entire Michigan squad - bench included - is on Dix like white on rice for that final 1.5 seconds, I still want him getting that last shot instead of either of the Sandfort brothers. 9.75 times out of 10.Just re-watched it, sorry but there was not a blatant foul on Pryce (IMHO) - just a really terrible off balance 'chuck'.
How was Fran not able to draw up a plan to either get it to Payton OR Josh!?!?! Were both these guys double teamed?!
Agree 100%Sorry, but I don't care if the entire Michigan squad - bench included - is on Dix like white on rice for that final 1.5 seconds, I still want him getting that last shot instead of either of the Sandfort brothers. 9.75 times out of 10.
How Fran doesn't run staggered screens to get JD open enough to catch and shoot - no matter where on the floor he is at the time - on that last possession is poor coaching. jmho.
They are never calling a foul there against the home team in the Big Ten.
It's on this thread...👍Would have loved to see a replay on Pryce's shot. Looked like a lot of body
Watched it 5 times and it's a foul. The defender thinks he's going to shoot it immediately and times his jump wrong, so he panics and keeps drifting into Pryce's body after landing. When the Michigan player walks away he isn't celebrating with any confidence like he made a great play, all you can see on his face is relief that they didn't call it.Here is the final play. None of the iowa players reacted like there should have been a foul so assuming it was clean.
it's close for sure, the ball was actually was on target to go in....Watched it 5 times and it's a foul. I understand refs dont want to call a foul at the end of the game - although they HAVE against us (@ Rutgers in 2022) - but at what point do we have to draw a line? That's a foul all game. You can't touch a shooters' elbow or body him out of bounds. The refs didn't want to decide the game. That's how it goes.
How many of those free throws are in non conf against crap teams, would be curious of the actual big ten only numbersThat's straight up suckage.
Wasn't there a point in time - not entirely too long ago - that the Hawks used to average more made FTs than the their opponents even attempted?
That’s what I saw.Watched it 5 times and it's a foul. The defender thinks he's going to shoot it immediately and times his jump wrong, so he panics and keeps drifting into Pryce's body after landing. So no one can mention free throws outside of your other thread? Alrighty then....I said we got no help that isn't blame and I have a thread already discussing free throws. Thanks
Agree, but Sandfort should have sold it more by jumping into the defender. That’s what I saw.
yup, or at the very least he should have tried to square up...Agree, but Sandfort should have sold it more by jumping into the defender.
Thanks for posting, IDK - there is really not much there IMHO...
You can't see the clear contact from that angle, because it is behind. There is an angle more from the sideline that shows the MI player clearly bumps Pryce, plus he had nowhere to land. Thanks for sharing. NOT a foul.
Here is the final play. None of the iowa players reacted like there should have been a foul so assuming it was clean.
Very tough to tell, very close.Any thoughts on the goal tending call? I thought the shot was blocked then pinned on glass.
Yep you can see at least some contact near the waist. There was no reach by the MI player, but that is definitely a foul. If the game is not in Ann Arbor, Pryce is shooting 3.Oddly enough, the Michigan player looked awfully sheepish like he knew he fouled and was just lucky that the zebras wouldn't call a foul on the last shot. They would have if the situation was reversed.
