So excited this kid is going to be a Hawk. I understand most here have already seen some of his clips but just in case you have not - feast your eyes on his Sophomore and Junior highlights below.

As the videos illustrate - this young man is shredding through top-flight Texas talent. If/When he's a Hawk I believe he'll be a fixture on the field from day one.

Wow!! The real deal. Like LaDanian. @ TCU good.

Rarely watch highlight film, but saw thelse are against Texas opponents. Amazing! Can there be a Ronnie Harmon - Shannon

Rarely watch highlight film but noticed these are from Texas against solid opponents. Amazing! Can there be a clone of Ronnie Harmon and Shonn Green? Also noticed that someone taught his team mates how to block.

My old dorm mate and current friend has argued with me twice before over a Hawkeye player: once arguing for Christensen over Stanzi, and again for Rudock over Beathard. He just called Benjamin too slow and soft for the B1G. I am ready to wager some money on EB's career success now.
He doesn't get caught a lot from behind for being "too slow."

What was it Hayden said? "It's a proven fact that some people are put on this earth to make your life a living hell." Is the guy a friend or a case study?

Very, very impressive. He has great instincts and is absolutely amazing at utilizing his blockers.

If we're looking for a past Hawkeye comparable, I see Albert Young. Hopefully a more healthy variety of Young.

Thought of this the last time I watched his tape. It's the running style more than anything. He is more elusive from what I remember.

You'll never sell me on a video like this. OK, you say it's Texas, but not every Texas HS team is made up of 22 future NFL Hall of Famers. And besides that, of course his highlight reel looks good. That's what a highlight reel is supposed to do.

I understand where you are coming from, but do us a favor and compare it to other highlight films. Heck if you compare this to a previous 4 star commitment of Greg Garmon you will see a major difference in ability level, especially when you see a player that has vision and runs between tackles and follows/sets up blocking. The dude has power, agility, catching ability, break away speed, and Texas is by far (especially his region) the best HS talent in the country....soooooooo IDK what to tell you

He's a scientist and therefore a numbers guy, to a massive fault. His big blind spot is not trusting his eyes ALONG with his numbers. I remember his case for both of those QBs were raw numbers like QB rating, completion percentage, interceptions, TDs, etc. but he forgot to look at the narrative for the games, and look at the most important stat of all: who was able to pull out the W in the clutch. I would tell him: I got it, Rudock and Beathard's numbers are comparable, but look at Beathard in 4th quarter against Nebraska in 2013 vs. Rudock in the 4th quarter against Northern Illinois. The game narrative PLUS those 4th quarter statistics showed who was going to deliver wins.

Im sorry I would take a 1-2 star RB out of Texas over any 3-4 star RB out of Iowa, Nebbie, and other Midwest states. Simply because of the level of talent they play against in HS. I am not saying all midwest kids are not good, but majority of the players that come out of Texas are legit Div 1 players. They play against other Div 1 players week in and week out. They are battled tested for the college game.

Iowa has slowly increased its number of Div 1 players and they are getting better. But still if you can get a "top talent" out of the state of Texas, thats an amazing accomplishment and its a good get for your team. Highlight films are just that, highlight films. I mean you could put together an 8man player highlight film and I am sure it would look similar to an 11 player highlight film. The difference is the level of competition and that's where ENO has a HUGE advantage. He isn't playing 8 man football vs Elk horn kimbelton, he is going against some of LARGE schools in Texas. I am pumped to watch him in the black n gold!

Also hope he keeps pushing Iowa to the other Texas recruits!

I am not arguing that Rudock is better than CJB, b/c I do not believe that at all. But I will say that JR was a pretty darn good QB and way to much blame was placed on him. CJB was also fortunate to have much improved defense and special teams along with a much more consistent running game last year. Granted blame and fame goes with the territory of being a QB and much of the success we saw last year could be because of many intangible things such as leadership, which obviously came from CJB himself. As I said I am not saying JR is better b/c I do not think I would take any QB over CJB at this point, the dude just simply wins and his toughness last year was uncanny. I love the guy, but lets not pretend that JR was horrible by any stretch of the imagination....just so happens CJB is awesome

Meh. It's all about how they fit the system you run and how they adjust to the environment around them (coaches, lifestyle changes etc etc). Doesn't really matter where you're from, if you have the talent and manage to fit in.

That is a full-grown man running against small children.

I am thankful you have nothing to do with the Iowa football program.

Yeah we should drop AJ and sign a low 3* DE from Texas instead.

Wait CJ won the Nebraska game in 2013? I remember CJ coming into a game with a 2 TD lead. I remember CJ only attempted 2 passes both on 3rd down. He over threw KMM on 3rd and 8 who was short of the sticks and he missed a wide open Adam Cox in the flat on 3rd and 3. I remember Hitchens causing a fumble of Abdullah giving Iowa a short field and I remember Weisman and Canzeri running all over the place, I do remember CJ getting the bootleg TD to go up 3 scores but I never really saw that as a clutch win. Porky Kellogg wasn't going to beat us that's for damn sure.

Did I say DE??? I said RB. Sorry but majority of Iowa's RB are not Div 1 material. name me 5 Iowa born RB's that made it to the NFL? Keep it somewhat recent I'll take since 1990 on. GO

Did he last at Iowa? Huh must of missed where he graduated from.

I realize we have Wegher & David Johnson in the NFL. That's it for Iowa's RB. I have not nor do I recall any other Iowa born RB being in the NFL in the past 20 years. Iowa is known for linemen. As you will read in my post, I am talking about RB's. Linemen Iowa has the better stock and I would take a 3 star linemen from Iowa, over any linemen recruit from Texas. For whatever reason Iowa can produce linemen & TEs from the state of Iowa. Skill Positions (WR and RB) is another story.

So is it Iowa born or played for Iowa? The fact that two Iowa born RB's are currently on NFL rosters is all the proof you need to prove your point is idiotic.

2 out of how many? I mean come on, lets face it Iowa is known for Linemen, TE's and LB. If you want skill positions sorry you have to go to other states to find that level of talent. Iowa born has 2 players (neither of them finished at Iowa) in the NFL. So we have 2 players from the state of Iowa. Anyone who cannot see that is just stupid. Iowa does not produce div 1 RBs. We produce tons of Linemen, TEs, and LB's. Skill positions are a different story.

I'm not discrediting any of that. Just stating that for you to say you'll take a 2 star back out of Texas over B. Wegher is stupid.

If we are using the "born in Iowa" standard...Darren Sproles was born in Waterloo,Iowa...I'm familiar with his history...just noticed "Iowa born" was used multiple times in this thread...
