Everyone Who Says Brock & Pryce Aren’t Big Players. . .

I’ve got to admit … I’ve really grown to like Brock Harding as a player the last few games. Not saying he doesn’t have limitations, but surround him with playmakers and give him a coach that teaches team defense, and I think he could be a very effective player and team leader.

I hope he sticks around, regardless of who is coaching. I like watching him play.

Yes Dix got abused but he did cause a few misses, block Thornton's shot a couple times. , but Harding would have had no chance .

Why not try to recruit a guy of Thornton's quality to play PG? I don't see the need fixate on Harding as starting PG at Iowa when you need to find a more talented guy athletically if you want to have a Sweet16 type team. As a guy coming off bench for change of pace, Harding is fine. We're a 17-15 type team because our guys like Harding aren't super talented and not very good at defense.
I mean, great if you can get Thornton, but I’m guessing he was a much higher recruit than we typically get.

Brock is hitting 38.3% from the 3 and leading the team in assists and steals. I don’t think I’m overreacting when I say he is a Big player. And Pryce has been gold throughout the Big season, playing much better than his brother.
Be quiet the Fran haters don't approve of these comments

Fran has tried to recruit those type of players over a number of years and hasn't connected with any of them. That's why he needs to go after 15 years. 1 or 2 games should not over shadow this miserable season, the majority of fans have spoken by not going to the games at Carver, it's time to part ways with Fran McCaffery, the sooner the better.

You guys blaming Harding for the sins of Fran are just out of your minds. Harding is a decent player. We’re on our way to giving up easily over 100 tonight. We can’t defend a pick and roll, we can’t play zone, we don’t put a body on anyone on defense anywhere on the floor. If we put half the defensive effort we put on offense we could be a top 25 team.

Pryce has actually been good. Brock cannot defend at this level. Illinois made us look silly. Even the announcers were poking fun at it last night!

In two BTT games, Harding had 6 assists and 5 turnovers.
Against OSU, he made 5 0f 6 including 3 of 3 from 3pt for 15 points. Against Nebby, he made 4 of 7, 3 of 5 from 3 pt, 4 assists, 1 turnover, 12 points.. Never said he hasn't had any sub=par games. Every player does. He has had many great games and some duds.. Last night was a bad matchup for him and he played few minutes. Other BT games, he plays many minutes and justly so.

It’s almost as if he is a sophomore that plays inconsistently like 90% other sophomores.

Our problem was more rebounding than defense yesterday. Way too many offensive rebounds given up because Fran insisted on playing small. Mulvey wasn’t even given a chance against their 7 footer. Hard to win giving up 2nd and 3rd shots.

Our problem was being outclassed by much superior talent which does the things we are bad at extremely well. It is the very definition of a bad matchup.

FFS... We shot 62% in the first half -- 62%!! -- and we were still DOWN at half time. lol.

We scored 90+ points and still lost by double digits. lmao If Sandfort doesn't have an out of body experience, we probably lose that game by 25+.

If we played that team 100 times, we would lose damn close to 100 times.

Illinois is facing the same thing today against Maryland. It's a terrible match up for them. I hope they get beat by 30.

No, cmon. They just needed Mulvey in there.

It’s almost like you can recruit big physical guards and athletes?!?

Maryland 83 - Illinos 53 with 6:04 left. :)
