Ditto the Sandfort brothers. They also seem to think you stop opponents going to the basket by following them there.
Harding drives to the lane, nowhere to go, throws the ball away desperately trying find a teammate. As Nick Bahe just said Washington is going to let Harding drive all day long!
The best case scenario -- It's just an absolute waste of 6-8 seconds of shot clock every single time he does it.
Another nice floor game from Harding...big defensive steals back to back, a couple of crucial threes and only one real boneheaded turnover...
It reminds of the movie Little Big League. When Billy Heywood is the kid manager of the Minnesota Twins. One of his favorite players Jerry Johnson hasn’t been doing well and Billy gets overly excited when Jerry gets a hit. And the assistant manager just looks at Billy and says, “Son. Aren’t you getting a little too excited for a seeing eye single?”

I’ll check the only stats that matter. Wins. And therein lies the problem, who have we beaten since the beginning of 2025? I’ll tell you, it’s the bottom dwellers in the Big Ten, and no one else. Brock has been good against the bad teams and bad against the good teams. Might want to check your stats lately.
I do wonder if other fanbases are just as toxic as ours.
I can’t imagine fans of other Midwest programs like Wisconsin/illinois/Indiana are positive and uplifting when their teams struggle.
Iowa is very mild, especially the media, when it comes to being toxic. Nothing compared to a school like Indiana for basketball.
Payton is obviously a Big Ten talent, he just can’t defend and if he’s your first option, then you are obviously going to have season’s like this. Pryce is showing flashes, which is also good to see. We just need guards in the worst way and needed them for a decade.

How about enjoy the win with teammates, friends and family instead of going on social media.

It’d be one thing if they went on a run and put together like five wins in a row. Beating the worst team in the Big Ten at home in a dogfight, that ain’t it.

I would have fully agreed with him if had instead used 'social media' in lieu of 'internet'.
Players shouldn't be anywhere near Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, etc etc during their season. Because the vast majority of them are all mentally fragile.

Before Social media, the losers had had fewer people that had to put up with the venom.

I went back and looked at his stats. When we play a top half big ten team, it’s almost never good.
Back in late January there were rumors he was gone along with Owen.
This post doesn’t help dispel those rumors.
I've never trusted white northerners who use "y'all" conversationally. It's affected and phony.
I lived in Kansas City for a number of years. The Y'all's used to drive me crazy. Sounded so hay seed hick to me. It wasn't too long before I was also saying Y'all as well. You adapt to those you are surrounded by. oh well....
Brock is mentally weak and thin skinned if he's reading and believing all the social media posts. Shows how much he was coddled growing up and can't take criticism, constructive or otherwise. I'm sure he will come back with "the haters only fuel me to work harder on my game". This is the only comment he should be making. Get back to work Brock, you need it.
The longer the season goes on the more comfortable I become with 100% roster turnover this coming off season.
I agree with Owen leaving. I’ve never understood Harding leaving unless he wants to play non power 5 ball. Maybe that’s fine with him.
It’s easy to say player’s should not listen to what the fans say. I can’t imagine being a player now with the social media and message boards. Back in my day a student writer for Iowa City Press Citizen took a little jab at me. Nothing like the crap I read on these boards but it’s tough to ignore. And it can get to you. Believe me, they may not come on here and read it but they hear it.
Back in the day, there was no social media. But Iowa should employ a sports psychologist to assist with the mentally weak.
