Since there have been a couple threads discussing strategy, I pulled up Wisky's recent stats.

Over their past 6 games (4-2) they have allowed opponents to shoot a combined 47-105 (44.7%) from 3. With no team shooting worse than 39% (Opponents have averaged 37.9% this season -- this is actually significantly worse than the NCAA for Wisconsin and is likely indicative of some poor luck)

In their 4 recent losses, Wisconsin forced turnovers on 16.1% of possessions or less. (Season rate of 19.8%)

I think we will likely be positioned fairly well to compete as we've got multiple capable shooters. If we can limit our turnovers, we may be able to shoot our way out of the Kohl Center and into bubble territory.

I'm very interested to see where the line will be set at. Ken-Pom has a projected line of Wisconsin -11.5. I'd be very surprised if it's anywhere close to that because anyone who has watched the two teams play in the last several games would know there's not that big of a gap.

However; odds say that Wisconsin is due to break out of it at some point and Iowa's last game has me worried the law of averages will hit us in a bad way. I hope they continue to pound the ball inside and get those open looks from 3 off of kick outs.

There is some kind of internal strife going on with that squad. Bardo mentioned hearing something about it on the MSU game broadcast.

No matter what happens Thursday they will be lucky to get out of the first wknd of the NCAA.

Yeah, I remember when rumors were running amok about internal issues in the Iowa locker room a couple years back. These rumors are usually either hyperbolic or completely divorced from reality.

The reality is basketball is a long season and every team is prone to have some type of skid. In short, I wouldn't put too much thought into it. Since Wisconsin is currently not playing well there should be some friction in the locker room. Anyone who has played understand this. It's called competitive drive. In fact, if there isn't any friction in the locker room, I'd be more concerned about that, because that indicates guys have stopped caring.

I think the reality is Wisconsin is a good team but not a great one, so I don't think there is honestly anything unusual going on. Just my opinion. In terms of the upcoming game, yes, Iowa is fully capable of going in to Madison and getting a W. But Wisconsin is fully capable of taking Iowa to the woodshed. My gut is telling me Iowa wins a thriller.

We'll see what happens.

Your gut and I think very similarly

Tell Stephen Bardo.

I'm certain that Pete, Jordan, and Brady have the green light at all times. I'd love to see Nicholas and Isaiah jump on the bandwagon with the 3 ball. I know Nicholas has been hitting them and I hope he keeps it up. Hoist them if you have them.

I want to see Tyler, Cordell, and Nicholas give Happ all he can handle. To me, Hayes is not all that great. Don't allow him to back in, when he's in the post.

Defend the 3 ball from Koenig and Showalter.

We must continue to shoot a high percentage from deep for sure to get this one in a very hostile place.

So many of our players can shoot 3's well. I expect that Pete is very hungry and would love to see him light it up.

I thought this thread was about sliding whiskey

There actually were some real issues in our locker room a few years ago. But That doesn't mean that it played out on the court.

In addition to hitting some 3s, I think it will be critical that Cook continue to play aggressively without picking up early fouls. Happ is great at getting the other team's bigs in foul trouble.

Happ has also been great at getting himself in foul trouble lately. Let's keep it that way.
