Explosion Near Trump Tower in Las Vegas

Li ion batteries, overheating sequentially, do the exact same thing.
As the battery "canisters" breach, they pop or hiss or whistle and vent a LOT of flames.

Go watch videos of how they ignite if you don't believe me.
CNN —
Authorities believe fireworks, gas tanks and camping fuel were connected to a detonation system controlled by the driver in the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside a Trump Hotel in Las Vegas Wednesday morning, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation.

Any truth to the rumor that Elon sent a self destruct signal to the vehicle to send a message to trump?

One of Elon's vehicles explodes in front of a Bonespurs Hotel... coincidence? I think it was a message from President Elon to his vice-toadie Bonespurs... toe my line or I'll Putin you!

Lot of truth to that rumor

Where’s @Phenomenally Frantastic to explain this away?

Haven't seen anything that says "fireworks"

Li-ion batteries explode similarly, and vent a shit-ton of vapor when doing so.
Go look some of the videos up.
The person who rented a tesla, built a homemade bomb and detonated it in front of Trump Towers in LV clearly agrees with you all. Congrats.

Normally I would think it could have been battery related but for the only Cyber Truck that’s blown up to happen right in front if the Trump hotel is way to on the nose to be a coincidence. Just thinking logically, had to have been blown up on purpose.
I figured it was a dude who wanted to kill himself as a statement and believed a lithium battery fire wouldn’t be easily put out.

"We thank Elon Musk specifically, because he gave us specific information on how the explosion happened due to the analytics he sent directly to us. We appreciate his help on that.""We are looking into the "coincidence" that both the Cybertruck and the New Orleans car were rented from Turo."

Strangely, I don't recall ever seeing this commercial on US broadcast media. ;)

They have gear reduction, which is functionally a transmission.
In the context of the original posts regarding "transmissions", the point was that ICE vehicles have transmissions that require replacement, due to having to shift constantly.

EV "transmissions" do not have that feature, and will generally last the life of the vehicle, if properly maintained.

You need to check or flush transmission fluid on an ICE vehicle regularly (30k miles or so). Not at all true for the fixed gear ratios of an EV. The EV "transmission" is the equivalent of your rear differential gears, which are not (and have never been) referred to as "a transmission".

  • Every EV has some form of a transmission, typically a single-speed gearbox or direct drive system.

Those gear systems are effectively the same as your rear differential gears. Which are not a "transmission" in the sense a regular shifting transmission works.

I don't know about that. But there have been reports that when the cars explode, they auto-lock. Elon had to help police remotely unlock the vehicle.

If anyone was in there, they were trapped.

Kind of crazy if true

According to the article, Ryan Routh who attempted to assassinate Trump on September 15th on the Trump golf course, visited the same base at least 100 times.

"Livelsberger and Shamsud Din Jabbar, who killed at least 15 people in New Orleans, both used electric vehicles rented from the Turo app. Both also served at Fort Bragg, the same base, with nearly 60,000 people, that would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh visited over 100 times."
