Boy you'd think someone died tonight.

Hawks played horrible. Played poorly for the past two and a half games. These losses STINK but keep a perspective. People forget where we were last year. I think if Fran can still take us to the tournament he's earned another year.

And lets not act like we can get whoever we want if we fire Fran. Iowa might not be a super attractive job anymore. Reality check: the fanbase isn't stellar. We can barely sellout more than 3 games a year. And thats NOT because of the poor performance. We were 20-5 and didnt even sniff a sellout at the Maryland game. Win a bunch of games, we wont show up to support you. Lose a few games, we'll call for your head. That kind of sucks.

Did you ever consider the product on the floor? Fans want to see good basketball, both offensively and defensively. We just don’t have a fun team to watch. Nine seasons with no true PG, one of the worst defenses in the NCAA. This at a Power 5 program at a major institution. Just not acceptable. Good recruiting starts with the coach, assistants and an AD that demands excellence. Good example in my opinion is Barry Alvarez. I can promise you he would not allow this product in a major money making sport.

I care so much about Iowa athletics and I am so tired of the product Fran brings. I was so happy the way the season went until the last three games. I was shocked and now totally disgusted. The next stage is antipathy. If the regents, President, donors and AD don’t care why should I. These ridiculous extensions Barta awarded are grounds for firing. All they do is protect a coach regardless of performance. I, along with the majority of fans, are fed up. And, I think the players are fed up with the same song, different verse. They are overmatched athletically and know they did the best they could with what they have. Just not fun for them anymore. I wish I was wrong and the future was bright. I just can’t see it with the type players we sign.
