People keep mentioning Houston is random, but OP clearly said list was based on top 5 populationsChicago for me.
Phoenix is nice, but too damn hot. Fun to goto though.
LA is fun to visit but the smog is a killer as are CA laws.
NYC is awful— my least favorite US city of any size.
Houston seems like a random option.
Just imagine what an incredible city Chicago would be on top of what it already is if Democrats didn't run it into the ground for the last 60 years.

That murder rate is awesome. Chicago - Come for a Cubs game...stay because you got shot to death.Chicago is what it is because sensible Dems have ran that city (well besides the corrupt Daley family)

Much safer than KC and St Louis, so enjoy the Royals, Chiefs and Cardinals.
In fairness he doesn’t mention population anywhere.People keep mentioning Houston is random, but OP clearly said list was based on top 5 populations
I absolutely love NYC. We have an office in downtown and midtown, I make it up there once or twice a year. Just love walking around the city. Chicago is great as well. LA is unique because it’s really a bunch of little towns connected by massive freeways. No one usually leaves there enclaves. My mom and dad were beach kids from El Segundo and Manhattan Beach. Grandma lived in Hawthorne. They knew the beach towns and the cities off the 405 and that was about it. Houston is great because of its diversity and blue collar attitude. Summers are horrible. My Mom retired to Phoenix. It’s ok.
The title of the thread is “Five of the Largest Cities”In fairness he doesn’t mention population anywhere.
Population, density, area, proper or metropolitan....The title of the thread is “Five of the Largest Cities”
Huh?
Good summary.
I actually lived in Houston five years and expected.to hate it. But if not for the weather I could have stayed.

How could someone enjoy the Cardinals???
I’d rank them two different ways depending on whether 1) you are stuck inside the city borders or 2) are staying in the city but can travel to nearby spots outside of the exact city limits.
For me if I’m stuck in the city limits it would be:
1) NYC (by an enormous margin)
2) Chicago
3) LA
4) Phoenix
5) Houston
But on the other hand, if I can travel to nearby spots like wine regions, national parks, historic spots, etc... then I nearly have them flipped. Then it would be:
1) Phoenix (by an enormous margin)
2) LA
3) Chicago (I enjoy Milwaukee more than Chicago other than the museums)
4) Houston
5) NYC
How do you define nearby? I don’t know the area super well, but I can’t think of any of those things you mentioned of note near Phoenix.
Petrified Forest is the only thing that comes to mind, and it’s 3.5hrs away.
And I don’t know vineyards, but I can’t imagine traveling anywhere in the US just for that.
Every goddamn thread you have to be an idiot. Every single one.Just imagine what an incredible city Chicago would be on top of what it already is if Democrats didn't run it into the ground for the last 60 years.
I love New York because each neighborhood has it's own vibe. I'm an Upper West Side person. Pretty sure.Chicago is the birches' favorite place to go for a girl weekend. We haven't been for several years now but still laugh our asses off remembering prior trips.
NYC is 2nd for me. I've been twice and loved the energy and the vibe. I'd love to go for a longer stay but Mr. Birch would rather die than go to NYC. Too many ****ing people for him.
You forgot Boston, which is the best "large" city.Of the top 5 largest cities in the US which is your favorite?
