FERENTZ GIVES UP ? FIRE

4th down and one down 24 points and Ferentz punts

That tells your team you have gave up..

That to me would be a justifiable reason to FIRE FERENTZ

I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF HIS BS... losing is one thing giving up
On your team is another
I was thinking exactly the same thing... over 6 minutes left and Iowa punts on 4th and 1... teams have come back from deficits that big in that time frame... though rarely.. it has been done. The punt there was an absolute white flag with way too much time left to roll over. Probably would not have won... just sayin'

I thought it was a good play. Less of a chance to give up a TD or bad field position on a punt than most offensive snaps throughout the game.

What absolutely amazes me is there are fans who are still surprised by "conservative" play calls from Ferentz. Almost as amazing as the Iowa fans who come out in droves singing Ferentz's praises after one win.

Honestly, with Iowa showing no pulse on offense the entire game, doesn't that make going for it on 4th and 1 a moot point?

OP, do you really think running a stretch play to the short side of the field was going to get us a first down on 4th and 1? Because that's what we would have run.
The game was over long before the punt. Very long.

I was pissed about that punt too.... But much more to be pissed about in this game..

Without looking it up.... I'd doubt any other team has ever had 2 pick 6s in a game and still lost.

0 offensive points. More yardage in INTs that offense. Excellent.

Wisconsin ain't that good

The point is not if we make it or not.. not if it's bad if we don't make it..

The point is you are simply saying that you give up...

Even if you don't get it which is 50/50 it's only a yard right? you are telling your team I have no confidence in you... or worse hey I don't want to be in a position where we don't make it and they can score again

Who cares rather lose by another touchdown than throw the white flag

That sickens me yo my stomach... and worst yet thru ran the clock out at the end of the game as well

Thats a Quitter and I'm embarrassed that we have a coach who is a quitter

I was more dissapointed in the actual play... 5 wide on a 3rd n 1 and the pass is to a recver to what have gained us 3 yards

I was hoping to see Stanley punt on 4th down there or any 4th down for that matter with how terrible the punters were today.

It was just a terrible day all the way around against a team that is much better than the Hawks. You just never know what you are going to get with this team and coaching staff from week to week.

66 yards of total offense by Iowa and you guys are worried about whether he punted on 4th and 1 and down by 24 points? The bigger issues was Iowa running 51 plays for 66 yards for an average yards per play of .772 yards per play.

I understand all that. It's giving up when there's no reason to quit trying. What the hell is the difference if we get beat by one more td at that point?4th and frickn' one. Give me a break. Crap decision, I dare care what anyone says.

I had the same thought that your coach just raised the white flag.
But then that's the reason Paul elected to punt on our own 4th and 1 with 2 minutes to go.

Just once dlu
3.5

The over/under on number of times OP has been married.[/QUO

Just once douchbag you lose...

My marriage may not be great all the time but I don't quit and I teach my children not to quit.

Running out the clock when you are losing and giving up is textbook quitting on your team and that's unacceptable anytime .

Who would you have hired to replace him?
PITT COACH a thought. No more today.BB.Nunge time and to go forward with Moss.Looks good huh?Cordell too.Lots of talent.Connor will also bring ball up.Jbo will be marked man
Moss similar to Royjr? Seniors drives to rim something.Fearless.

I am in total amazement the night and day difference from one week to the other! Thought the Ohio State win was fantastic, but thought at that time something did not add up. I was at the Minnesota game the week before. The biggest improvement I noticed was a sustained drive in the first series to score the opening touchdown. To go from that team to what we saw last week, then back to this week.

The reality is that we had no chance to score when our offense was going up against Wisconsin's defense. My only complaint is that we didn't punt as soon as we got the ball on every possession after it was clear that our best hope of getting a TD was having Wisconsin pass the ball.

Who would you have hired to replace him?

Depending on the year it would alter the talent pool but their have always been viable options. Hell at this point ask P Parker to be the head coach and ask him who he wants to run the Offense that he feels would give his guys the longest breaks. Iowa has relied on the defensive coordinators for far too long. You could argue without 2 legendary DC's KF would be .500 and it has been some helacious defenses that have got us 7-5 average.
