As a MAGA hater and someone not a fan of the Kim reaper, get real. Life here is pretty awesome, although it is being eroded.
Had a company sold February of 2023, 1 application 12 calls later, now a scheduled appt,next week may get it fixed. Fyi they sold to another business in June, it’s a shit show. There were only 3 employees at one point last summer in the dept I was calling. You have to acknowledge most employees are for processing unemployment claims.
I don’t have my Manufacturers’ Directories from the three states with me down here.
Fimco comes to my mind first. Prince Hydraulics moved their corporate offices to South Dakota. Gateway Computer started in Iowa and then went to SD before being bought out.
There are others. Some just have their offices in South Dakota. I am retired and don’t pay attention to this part of the world anymore.
There is no state income tax in South Dakota.
Somewhat agree, but if Iowans only leave the state for 3 months each year, they are still Iowa residents and pay Iowa state taxes. It’s the retirees that want to leave Iowa for more than six months that she is trying to curtail.

If you want to pay high state taxes…move to Minnesota. 😉 As for me, I’ve got better uses for my money than paying high state taxes.

Not anymore! However, in the past, I know of people that have done so.
I know of several former MN co-workers that are retiring to Iowa, principally for lower estate taxes.
Locally Des Moines is also Democratically ran mostly. The rest of the state which is tanking isn't.

They closed the School in Hills because of money, yet we got a new quarter of a million dollar Songbird Sanctuary to go with our quarter million dollar downtown " pervious pavers ". Yeah, I know they were likely from different " bags of money " yet in the end they are all taxpayer funded in some way. If a town of 900 can waste 1/2 million dollars on shit like this then multiply it across the state and you'll quickly know why our roads/bridges and schools are under funded. Priorities...
Lots go to Az where taxes are pretty similar to Iowas, I believe. Iowa in the past gas delivered superior services than most other states… now Iowa is chasing Mississippi.
The south dakota often said the Minnesota governor and taxes were the best promotion for South Dakota.

You like paying taxes for roads / services that is largely used by corporations? Tax abatement for 10 years on half a million dollar homes and companies that will bail as soon as their property tax abatement expires? Good for you
First question - i hate paying any tax but please relate road tax to flat income tax.

You should be the last person critiquing grammar. The only reason you can’t understand what I was saying is due to one of the following reasons. 1. You are an idiot. 2.
