Sort or surprised Turk ranked 20, but will take it - looking for some big wins from him this year. Another weak weight for B1G - only 2 in top 10. Opportunity for Turk(or Carton) to make a run.

Heil #1 of course

B1G
#5 Ashnault
#9 Thorn
#12 Guilibon
#14 Hayes (OSU)
#16 Gasca

Also surprised to see Turk ranked already. I guess that one win against Gross last year carried some weight. To be fair, I think familiarity probably played in that win, but I'll take it.

How in the world is Guilibon not ranked #1 again?? Flo actually did their homework this year?

Also are Thorn Krone Lizak and Early even enrolled at MN currently? Thought someone said Thorn was xferring to ISU. Surprised these guys are still on the team and allowed to wrestle honestly.

If Turk and Carton are close Turk should get the nod. Way bigger upside and the experience could really help next year.
Carton has had multiple opportunities to lock down the spot. At this late point in his career I'm not optimistic.

As for Thorn, I'm also curious about fallout and repercussions. Maybe MN AD's opinion is: we got rid of J, problem solved.

These were my exact thoughts. Gubalong is still an enigma. So much hype, so little results.

As for Thorn... These guys involved in the drug scandal should all be ineligible for at least this year if they stay Gophers. There is simply no reason they shouldn't receive some eligibility penalty. None!

Remember rankings are not predictions. That being said I feel Heil should have been the #1 last year being the highest retiring AA at the weight.

I didn't know any names were actually mentioned in the MN case as far as wrestlers involved. If your names were speculation, I don't think I agree with saying anything. If it in fact was released by the university or during the investigation, then I retract my statement.

Speculation from the police report. Papa Thorn and J were 2 peas in a pod. Will be interesting if any fallout from that relationship.

Nothing at "Scandal U" should surprise anyone! Pick a sport... or an AD!

Tough for them to suspend any of the wrestlers when J disposed of the evidence. That's one of the reasons he got fired.

Whoa never said he was a bad parent! Relax. Just curious if the sons indiscretions will put a damper on the personal and business relationship papa Thorn and J have had for years.

2plus, ya got some love on the Flo radio show. ;) Say what you want about Flo, but this board gets a lot of press, certainly more than any other board. Also, CP and Willie talk about ranking Turk #20. Interesting breakdown of the 141 lb weight class.

I agree with the Flo dudes--it lends credence that the admin was just out to get J. None of these guys were punished. I expect some babies to be named after J here in a few years

There is no evidence to punish any of them. J flushed it all. J didn't escape discipline because he freely admitted what he did. Not a tough concept to grasp.

Disagree. Even tho J has had a bad relationship with about every AD passing thru at MN there isn't a school with any brain that would not have fired J for what he did. You just can't take these things into your own hands and destroy evidence and then refuse to cooperate when asked questions. That stubborn ol man was too stubborn 1 too many times and it bit him. Time for everyone to quit feeling sorry for him. He did himself in not the admin or school.

He took one for his team. Flo guys had it right very hypocritical for the school not to take any action on wrestlers in question

The university is not a court of law...very low threshold to remove somebody from the team and/or take their scholly money. The U and the police had letters admitting how some of them sold drugs or took drugs plus positive tests. Being a student athlete is a privilege.

Plenty of evidence for the school to punish the athletes. J was not charged with a crime either. If what they did was egregious enough to fire their coach for covering it up, then it should be egregious enough to warrant a 4-match early-season suspension or similar non-onerous punishment. To have no consequences whatsoever, in light of the legal bullet they dodged and the financial damage their actions caused their coach, doesn't sit right with me. And I'm not against the kids; I want them to learn from it and be stronger because of it, same as J wanted.

Maybe Eggum will announce something on his own.

One would think there would be some repercussions to the wrestlers involved. For sure. Not going to be a pretty picture if it's business at usual at good ol' Minny.

I would assume to punish someone you need proof. Without evidence I would assume no proof. Allegations and hearsay are just that.
