Flo 141 - Turk #20

I would assume to punish someone you need proof. Without evidence I would assume no proof. Allegations and hearsay are just that.

So Lizaks confession essay isn't enough proof? Maybe that was the only letter handed over and the others were shredded? Those little a$$holes got their coach fired. If they and their parents had any integrity whatsoever they would step fwd and toe the line and take their punishment. Still shocked they are still on the team...at least the 4 dealers.

Gonna be a weird atmosphere in the room this year. Got the whistleblower starting with all the other criminals who were dealing/taking drugs still on the team with no punishment. Guess we will see what kind of cloth Eggum is made of right out of the gates.

"I didn't write that, it was planted" (just an example not saying this was said) prove that statement false. You can't. Circumstantial, that document would never hold up in court.

The team atmosphere is really good. Team is really bonding and guys are very excited for the season. The team really believes in Eggum and staff. I am sure they appreciate your concern though.

Plenty of evidence for the school to punish the athletes. J was not charged with a crime either. If what they did was egregious enough to fire their coach for covering it up, then it should be egregious enough to warrant a 4-match early-season suspension or similar non-onerous punishment. To have no consequences whatsoever, in light of the legal bullet they dodged and the financial damage their actions caused their coach, doesn't sit right with me. And I'm not against the kids; I want them to learn from it and be stronger because of it, same as J wanted.

Maybe Eggum will announce something on his own.

So J didn't destroy it all. Gotcha.

Perhaps something is coming. Or perhaps the U of M doesn't want to enter into a double jeopardy situation since "punishment" was already handed down on the issue.

Again, we are not talking about court. If we were, then J should have never gotten fired because the cops didn't have any evidence. Kids failed drug tests, admitted by letter (was it signed?) what they did. See it all the time..."So and So suspended for violation of team rules." They never say what it is, just that punishment was handed down...like in the case of Marstellar and OSU.

BTW, didn't a wrestler OD? Shouldn't there be some form of punishment?

J was fired for not cooperating. Had he cooperated he most likely would not have been fired IMO. J could still file a lawsuit for wrongful termination. J understands the risks involved with that also.

Punishing a kid without "proof" leaves the university susceptible to a lawsuit, which is when legal aspects come into play. This has been analyzed by many within MN , including legal teams, and they determined they lack proof and are left with allegations.

Keep in mind I am not, nor have I ever, suggesting that nothing occurred. I am rationalizing why the university may not be able to "punish" individuals involved to the degree some would like to see. There are policies and procedures that will take place that the public will never be aware of.

This is not a simple cut and dry situation. If no punishment is true, I can rationalize as to why. If punishment occurs, I can rationalize as to why.

There is so much that happens that never will come out in public.

I still wonder how Logan Ryan never missed at match (at least I don't think he did) after his incident. But I know disciplinary things happen behind the scenes that most will never know.

Sorry I will silence myself.

141 is a really deep weight. Perhaps not the top end talent but 15 guys that are real solid.

Weird how Turk getting ranked somehow morphed into a gopher dope dealing thread.
You see who started it.

HR poster tries repeatedly to bait another poster who he knows is the parent of a Gopher wrestler. He starts using the Xanax story to pile on to his agenda and is called out on it by other posters. He makes another screen name with the sole purpose of commenting on the Xanax story (even called out the Gopher parent in a post before editing the post). Now he can keep pushing his agenda minus the push back from other posters because "someone else" initiates the topic that he is only responding too. It's actually comical to watch him hold a conversation with himself then pat himself on the back with likes.

BTW the 141 rankings came out and Turk is #20.

Forgive me Papa I'm a little slow, I know that Finkle is Einhorn and Einhorn is Finkle, but I missed who 2plus is ghost writing for.

Maybe since Turk is ranked about where he should be right now, there wasn't any should be higher/lower argument to be made, Then someone brought up Thorn, and the anti-J faction really started going strong. Then, G6 defended his home boys, like he should.

That is my theory anyway. Thanks to PBS for trying to get back on track, or at least end the nonsense.

It's always been obvious to me, this board has good content and is busy year round. Guillotine is only busy with the chirping of crickets.

So don't suspend them but make them sit the bench for the first 4 or 5 meets or whatever is determined. As a coach I don't have to give a reason other than I went with another guy. Have seen wrestle offs in Iowa room in the past only for Gable and Brands to go with the guy that was more offensive even if he was on the losing end. Try and sue a coach over that? Not a chance CASE CLOSED!

If Tom Brady doesn't have enough to sue neither does any gopher wrestler. Think about that for a sec. Deflating a few FBs gets you 4 games. Dealing drugs gets your coach fired and a welcome back on the team with open arms. Now only if Tom Brady was the one who got his coach fired....

This has turned into a pretty gay thread hey and by "gay" I mean unintelligible or lamesauce. Guilt rides you but Cuz TG gonna stick you. Haha peace

the bear was joining in long before he became a goopher parent, but he does seem a little more grumpy these days.don't poke the bear.

The obvious answer is he's a Hawkeye fan and will be able to openly enjoy that fact in 4 years.

Fair enough. Just seems a little odd. Nothing wrong with it just weird. Would say the same thing if Gilmans dad was posting on the PSU board trying to make friends with everyone over there. Funny how you see ppl mention all the time "parents should stay off these boards" yet y'all embrace and suck up to a rivals parent and then Rhoads dad gets criticized for making a few stops last year.

Difference between parents who are only about their kid or his team and one's who are wrestling junkies as well as a parent. LE falls in the latter. He has rarely written about his kid or Minnesota...he stays on the board topic, the Hawks and general knowledge...also some humor.

Parents in the former category who read it and get angry should stop and go do something else because most opinions during the season are in the moment reactionary or guys like you trying to push some buttons.

If I had to choose between LE and some dude whose only objective is not wrestling or the Hawks but trolling other team's fans or family, gonna go with LE every time.

PBS has been on here for a few years, it seems to me that he was on here prior to his son committing to Minnie. I believe LE's commitment may have been announced/discussed on this board and he got some congrats, some "wish your boy luck against everyone but Iowa" type stuff. He typically has some good insight, as Chief mentioned due to him being a wrestling junkie. His attachment to the #1 HS school team in the nation provided him some insight into various recruits (like JRent) and I usually find his posts interesting and often humorous as well. I've seen a fair amount of posters take shot at Minnie's program (maybe trying to get a reaction out of him, maybe not) and I can't recall him ever melting down on HR. If you've spent any amount of time on any other board (and I don't recommend it) it's painfully obvious that HR is by far the best ticket around. More Hawk fans= more Hawk posters. He's got insight, and he's funny. Guys on here appreciating that and responding pleasantly to that is not "sucking up".

JRent and Mejias dad have posted on her before and after they de-committed both stopped for obvious reasons. JRent's pop did stop by to thank HR for all the kind things guys on here said about his son. Many responded to that with likes and well wishes. I would agree that an athletes father coming on here to vent is probably a bad idea. I can't imagine PBS ever stooping to that.
