Flo Nationals

Geerts won his wrestleback and will place in top 8. Also, Gable Fox of Don Bosco has won 5 in a row on the backside at 106 to place top 8.

Courtney is a very funky wrestler. This year at PA states, he beat 3 former state champs.

Win over Kline was pretty good...Kline almost TF'd Jet Taylor, Okie State champ. I think Courtney is a stud...had a great run at PA states including a win over Max Murin. Going to be a good one.

Darn missed Justin match what time will his finals be?
To much wasted time looking around flo to find what I want lol
This old fart not good at this tech stuff.

Impressed with Courtney after watching him. Good length, flexible, good scrambles, good gas tank and can put guys in danger. With him dropping from 126 in season he will have some length and size on Justin. If you are going for under the radar type kids this is the type you are looking for, great skill set. Per the eyeball test I think he would take Wagner and Rathbun to the wood shed. Just got into the intermat rankings at #17 at 126.

Anthony Mantanona= Tough wrestler from CA., tearing Hidlay to pieces. He is a Jr.

Courtney looked a lot bigger and he is the modern day funk type. Justin just needs to get bigger and stronger still love the kid. Maybe Hawks should try to get Courtney as he has frame to grow for sure to 33 or even 41

Last I heard, Courtney is Cornell's to lose.

That was ugly. Courtney is the real deal and seems to be hitting his stride. Mej looks like a career 125. I would have liked to have seen Thompsen there to see how he would have fared. Not one doubt in my mind he could compete with both.

That was a lot of wrestling for a kid from the west coast today. Meija looked a little tired. 3 matches in one day against top tier opponents, while traveling across country. Not to shabby. I would take him on my team any day. He is going to be a winner at the college level.

Courtney is from Athens, PA, which is only about 2 miles from the NY border and only an hour from Cornell. By contrast, State College is 2 1/2 + hours away. Athens is in District 4, a rural part of the state with almost all smaller division (AA) schools and is the same district that Zain R and Nate Brown are from. I too have heard Cornell is the likely destination for Courtney but that is just internet discussion.

Thanks guys didn't know Cornell was after him but sure makes sense being he lives that close.

Courtney has been working out at FLWC for years with Yianni D, who's already committed there.

If he somehow slips away from Koll, Lehigh is probably next up. Word is he also likes them. Santoro has as many wrestlers from District 4 as from the Lehigh Valley. They all love Nate Brown, they're tight with each other, and John Hughes grew up there.

And just to show you how dominant Lee is, he recently teched a kid (15-0) who'd beaten Thomsen previously. He's obviously head and shoulders above everyone else.

Cornell has another pretty decent lightweight committed there also.

Agreed. Lees attacks and pace are way above the rest.

This is the last big folkstyle tournament of the year is why I wanted to see Thompsen there. Id really like to see him wrestle Courtney. Thomp is an excellent finisher and finishes quickly which is why I'm optimistic. He's also terrible on bottom and Courtney is a hammer on top.

Justin had a tough match against a stud...it happens. Courtney just beat three state champs from PA and is on a hell of a run. Kudos to him.

Yes I will stand by by comment about Meija being the favorite. I am PSU wrestling fan and did not see that coming. The CA kid looked whooped after wrestling 3 matches in one day after traveling.

I had a feeling Courtney would win this one. Keep in mind it was a 126 pounder vs a 120 pounder (flo seemed to not mention it) and it was pretty obvious looking at them on the mat. Without an unlikely growth spurt there is no way Mejia is ever bigger than 125. Justin needs to get better on bottom and leg defense. He got caught flat footed a lot which concerns me. Many current members of the team have the same issue.

That's why the plus 5 pounds is dumb with night before weigh ins. You have guys that can cut tons of weight and have a whole day to recover.

looks like some considerable shine just got removed from a guy (JM) this board was convinced was a freshman AA. He was beaten in all 3 areas. Maybe its a lesson to all on hanging college medals around HS juniors necks

Don't know how many guys were predicting freshman AA for JM...and no, the shine isn't off, at least for me. Justin essentially wrestled up a weight with the five pound weight allowance. He wrestled at 120 this season. Josiah Kline wrestled up at 132, Courtney at 126. Now, did considerable shine get taken off of Spencer Lee when he got beat twice in freestyle vs Daton Fix? No. Lee basically walked around at 120 while Fix cut down to 120...one could tell Fix was just bigger.
