But said He has his eyes one 3 teams in college basketball, North Carolina, Kentucky and Iowa. Says saw a lot of edge in Iowa. I personally have always liked him. He is willing to call it likes he sees it, and that invariably is going to piss people off

I like him, for the most part. He does make occasional completely off the wall dumb comments, and not in the same manner that Bill Walton does, closer to the "George Kittel can't block" type of dumb.
Gotta make the tourney to win the tourney. UNC is currently 10-10 with some bad losses and not many good wins.

That’s totally fair. Others have brought up good points against him also. I just like him. But I also drink the juice out of the empty olive jar.

In over 55 years of watching college basketball, Dan has managed to become one of my least favorite people on TV. And I usually never dislike anyone. I just don’t. But he insulted Fran on Twitter a couple of years ago (and wouldn’t let it go), insulted the team, has made fun of people in the Iowa crowd, specifically the gentleman who has been attending every game for years, and sits in the front row to the right of the announcers’ table, Dan is known amongst his colleagues as someone who hates everyone, and he should really only be the Voice of Indiana basketball when Alford takes the job on the same day hell freezes over.

He makes some good points at times, and has the ability to be fine. But too often he is far too enamored with the sound of his own voice. He also can't admit when he's wrong (much like the rest of today's society), and thinks he's far wittier than he is.

I would pay to have a Duke vs North Carolina match with Bill Walton, Dick Vitale and Dan Dakich doing commentary. Bill Walton would just drive Vitale and Dakich up the wall, I could just imagine Vitale waxing on about Duke or UNC's diaper dandies only to be derailed by a nonsensical, story that has nothing to do with anything.

I love all sports but I change channels ever time Bill W. is calling a game. He doesn't talk about the game but only his past and goes on and on and on and on and on...OMG ESPN or Fox must really be hard up. JMO
Maybe that’s why I like the guy. Walton makes me laugh and he is looney as all hell, but he doesn’t take life too seriously. We live in a place where fans take sports so seriously that they break stuff in their house, ruin relationships, among many other things. He isn’t for everyone, that’s for sure.
Bill would lose himself completely in the wonderment that is Luka Garza. Stories of desert acid trips would ensue, and the world would be unbearably beautiful.
