Foster inching closer

Wow. Apparently Xavier told the media he was going to announce a top 3 before he even told his dad.

The way I see it, and it probably matters nothing, Foster is a 7' athletic post that can stretch the floor and play facing the basket. Looking at Iowa has to be like looking back at his H.S. career playing with other big strong posts that allow him to play a more versatile game.

Having basically 2 other 7 footers in Garza and Nunge to play along side of he won't be stuck in the post like he may at other schools?

That's just my feeling on things... I could be wrong?

Do you think Iowa makes the list?

They didn't for DJ Carton.

Damn I'd love to get him, he'd be a perfect fit for Fran, but I don't see it happening. I don't even see being in the top 3.

He seems to spend a lot of time on the ames campus and, quite frankly, ISU has a more proven track record for putting guys in the Association. On the other hand, he's got the family ties to Iowa. I could honestly seem him just saying screw it and going out-of-state to avoid the in-state drama.

You could easily be right.

I, for one, will be surprised if both IA and ISU are not on his top 3 finalists.

Given the timing, I think he's given up on getting a Duke offer. The other "blue blood" offer he has (according to 247) is Kansas and I read things have cooled between them and KS has lost their luster anyway.

I think it's IA, ISU, and Baylor as his top 3 with IA getting the nod in the fall. I trust that his lifelong Hawk fandom coupled with family ties wins out.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Foster went to at least a half dozen Iowa basketball games this past winter. He spends plenty of time on Iowa’s campus as well.

He announced he was naming a top 3. The dad says it was news to him. Superficially to me it appears Xavier wants to make a choice and move on and enjoy his senior year and have the recruiting done and over with. If that's the case, everyone else involved needs to get on board with that.

I get the impression that the dad is a bit of a helicopter parent.

Wtf?

His parents have allowed him to be a kid and not follow the money or exposure of going to prep school to advance his marketability.

DeJuan is not a helicopter parent

Is that code for asshole?

Code for a parent hovering over their child(ren).

Needs to see this NBA ticket through.

??? Provide evidence of such statement?

He most certainly he is...he thinks the recruiting process should include him as much as Xavier.

Dude - know it's the internet but English please. Sorry your clones couldn't land a good instate kid for the last 15 years.
Any good father would be involved to ask the right questions from a maturity standpoint.

I hope he doesnt read this bored, and see how some Hawkeye fans bash his Dad, then decide to go elsewhere.

If the Foster’s can accept The Voice of the Hawkeyes being a King Kong sized racist, I think Iowa has a chance.
