Fran has now won on the road at each Big Ten school, right?

I feel like we should change the chant to Lock HIM up. If he somehow gets us into the dance, then for sure he's earned the opportunity to coach both his sons through their college careers at Iowa if he so chooses.

The knock has been a lack of postseason success, and while the BTT results have been disappointing, the NCAA tournament has exactly matched expectations (unless you count losing a play-in game as swinging everything negative... it even went to OT, so in regulation we tied an evenly seeded team). I'd love to see Fran end up as either a 5/6 or 10/11 to see if he could pull off an upset or two against non-contenders (defined as #1 or #2 seeds).

The guy can clearly coach and is continuing to recruit better and better players.

Yeah both Tennessee and Iowa were under seeded that year. Massachusetts had no business waiting for the winner of that game.

As we look back at this year we will realize what a monster recruiting class we had last year. Very underrated. JBO was lightly recruited yet Fran knew he would be good. Said he didn't understand why more people were not after him. Getting Cook was huge. That kid is an absolute STUD. Pemsl was another very good player with a B1G body already and yet very lightly recruited. Fran knows em when he sees em. We are going to be good for a good long while.

We should all be able to agree that Fran does have an eye for talent. Ellingson and Williams are getting better each game when at one time many thought they were wasted schollies.

Pemsl is the one if you ask me that has impressed me the most. He's so efficient even as a freshman at finishing, and he already has such great mechanics with his back to the basket.

I love watching Cook and Pemsl post up because they have an old school back your guy down mentality to them. Probably speaks to the coaching they had or work they put in prior to getting to Iowa.

I'd love to show kids Cook's (and Bohannon's) highlights from this Maryland game because it was textbook hi-low offense.
