Fran needs to get Bohannon some help

Williams had back issues last night.

Speaking of basketball IQ, how did this work out for ya?

"The defense may improve from an assignment perspective i.e. not leaving guys under the basket waving their arms, but not from an athletic perspective. We are too slow and undersized all over the floor to do much more than offer passive resistance vs. defend.

Even with better defense, we still only have one guy who merits any respect on the perimeter and a very talented, but young and undersized post player who will get double teamed because of no other offensive threats. Outside of Jok and Cook, the rest of the team is comprised of the 7th or 8th guy off the bench at a MVC school."

Dammmmmmmm...pretty good Sixth Man of the Year and First Team All Big Ten for Baer and Bohannon considering they are 7th or 8th guys off the bench at an MVC school. And that Pemsl guy rated no respect as an offensive player either.

Wow, you got a track record going there IQ!!!!

And how did we do in the BTT? Did we show up for the most critical game of the season? Did it appear we had close to the level of athleticism IU has? I lost track how many 10-0, 12-2, 14-0 runs IU had because we do not have anyone capable of dribble penetration. Not sure if you watched the IU-WI game, but Trice, the kid nobody recruited, played major minutes in crunch time and hit big shots + had nice dribble drives to set others up for open looks.

How much would Bohannon benefit from that guy being on the floor to share the ball handling duties, create open looks for him, or chase the other team's quick guard? Nope, we have CW and BE watching from the bench. I have said repeatedly I was wrong about Bohannon and you can throw Pemsl in there as well if that makes you happy, but the end result is we lack a dribble drive threat necessary to get action going to the basket. Teams will shift their attention to Bohannon next year with no Jok and without someone to help shoulder the PG duties / create, he will have to keep stepping further back to get clean looks.

How often do you shine your safety pin? You seem a bit older than most millennials, but your behavior is consistent with those needing safe zones when people share a differing view. I find it funny, so keep it up. Maybe we can make the Elite 8 in the BTT next year?? I can accept losing to IU, but getting run off the floor in the 2nd half in a game of that magnitude at this stage of the season is not making progress. Fran has to stop the culture of losing in the BTT if he wants to move the needle.

you certainly can post ON & ON about our teams dismal record in the BTT...and you have...

you certainly can post about our recruiting ...and you have...

you are right as much as you are wrong...which you have said.

you admit you were dead wrong on JBo and his ability...
can you now admit you dont know if you will be dead wrong by Connor McCaffery as Bohannons' backup....you have every right to your opinions...doesnt mean you have the right to define the behavior of those who dont agree with your postings'...

I'm not happy we have lost 4 straight games in the BTT over the last 4 years..just like I was happy we won 4 straight games to end the season...but thats' athletics....sometimes your opponent plays better than you...GEEEE what a novel thought ..the other guys are trying to beat U.

Indiana has 'underachieved' this year IMO...they have better talent then what their record reflects.

You forgot Baer.

Another quick quote from one of your posts this past season, "I will gladly eat crow........". Yeah, you do that a lot. But you don't learn a thing. You just complain, over and over, about the players, the coach, other opinions.....and then complain you get picked on.

You are also not above trying to slip little jabs in at other posters over what you perceive as their ignorance. You've done it when I've tried to explain positionless basketball. You've carried a grudge over our disagreement throughout the season.

I didn't invent that term, by the way. Do you know how many extremely successful coaches you are arguing with when you try to cut me down for just passing on what THEY say?

Now, I've presented your own words from a few short months ago.

Bohannon would be a sub on an MVC team.
Baer would be a sub on an MVC team.
Pemsl would be a sub on an MVC team.
Wagner, Ellingson, Moss, Kriener........everybody but Jok and Cook would be a sub on an MVC team.

That was personally insulting the players. Then you questioned the IQ of another poster.

You got called on it.

So I'm feeding you some REAL crow. Shut up and eat it.

Who does Iowa have that can create their own shot and attack the lane? Moss??

JBO is a 3pt and that's it. Which is fine, he can make them and he rarely forces it.

Who do we have that can attack the basket and finish?

When talking about the guards, in comparison to other teams in the league who rely on hero ball, probably just Moss. Maybe Daily if he's improved his handles. Maybe Williams if his finish at the bucket improves.

Question back at ya. How many times this year have we heard the pundits talk about Iowa's assists compared to their buckets?

Last thing. We were the youngest team in the league, and certainly by far the least experienced in terms of minutes played. We finished 10-8.

there was a thread or post by Rudolph after the Wisky game I believe.. I thought fully & fairly discussed the Iowa offense...maybe he can repeat it?

Scoring points didnt seem to be a problem this...seems preventing points being scored was/is a bigger problem. I'm confident our guys did get better but still need to alot better.

I also think its premature to think Moss cannot create...but regardless...creating is find & dandy...turnovers are not.

I'm personally sick of "we need an elite point guard." No kidding? So does every other team. There's maybe 5 such guards in a recruiting class. We offer schollies. If we want them to come to Iowa, we'll probably have to offer a little more.
