And he served his time and paid restitution. Why bring this up?
Because some people come on here only to troll?

Pemsl gonna go Shaq on some fools next season. Just watch.....Pemsl is part of the reason Iowa will be a Final 4 team?
Whatever you're on, I'll take half.
I love the kid but JBo may be the single most overrated player in Iowa history.
For the last 41 years straight, a betting man would have done well (100% correct well) taking the field against Iowa for the winner of the Big Ten Regular Season Title.
You want to fantasize that JBo would have changed it this year? Might as well. There’s no law against it. Don’t get mad at me for not buying in though.
I hear you but memories don't pay the bills either. The irony is that Bohannon having to sit a year makes it more likely that Garza comes back. The kid really seems to enjoy college ball, if I were his father I’d counsel him that he probably will never have that kind of unmitigated joy playing in the NBA. Money won’t replace memories.
Fran managing an 11 man rotation gives me pause....yeah, I said it.If both Garza and Jbo come back a national title is not ridiculous. That’s the best big man in the country + one of the most clutch and consistent shooters Iowa’s ever had... that alone is enough to carry any team + we have Joe, CJF, Weezy, Pemsl, and incoming class.. yeah, that’s a final 4 team.
Maybe. His son is a stud but he owes some people A LOT of money that will never happen.
And with the most complete team Iowa has had in 30ish years comes...well, you know.If everyone returns....and returns healthy....this will be the most complete team Iowa has had in 30ish years.
The biggest concern for me is replacing Kreiner. That guy is going to be missed.

Is that even the same Garza? The one convicted lived in the west coast, no? Either way, who the **** cares? This is about Luka, not his father. Then where did the 2.8 mil in restitution go?
At some point next years expectations if everyone returns will have to be tampered down. Until our defensive efficiency gets better we aren't winning anything. We will be a really good team but talking about national titles is just ridiculous.

The money won't be there if he tears an ACL.My money, which ain't worth much, says Luka comes back. I would be shocked if he didn't. The money will be there a year later . . . maybe even more. And Luka just doesn't seem like the kind of young man who's chasing the money. He will want to come back and be the kingpin of a loaded roster that will have a legitimate chance at both a Big Ten and, yes, I'll say it, a national title.
what are you talking about I think he's going to come back I think he needs to. You're a guy who doesn't play above the rim another year certainly won't hurt. I also think Lukas Dad should start up a big man's camp if he can develop other players like he did his son bingo$$$$ will talk. If he’s a first rounder (I have no clue and hate today’s NBA) he would be crazy not to go.

NO you're not but you're one of the stupid few who keep bring it up. Does anyone keep bringing up your an idiot from Minnesota and your like little kids?Am I the only one that just learned Frank Garza pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering?
What does Luka Garza's basketball skills have to do with his parents past? Probably half the players on college teams don't even know their dads...Grow up and move on...Oh, trolls can't move on and get attention. It is pretty interesting regardless of whether it was 10 years ago or not. Not many parents of Iowa athletes get prosecuted by the feds and defrauded people out of money. Looks like the only person he paid back was Steve Mariucci, the old 49ers head coach. Also sounds like Italy kicked him out of the country. All crazy stuff.
Not to pile on the guy but that’s what people that commit these kinds of crimes want you to think.Doesnt seem like Frank is struggling with money. Which IMO makes it more likely he comes back

I’m worried that Luka will leave because his dad’s not in a good financial position.
Hopefully I’m wrong.
JBo, who may end up as the all time leader in the history of the B1G for 3 pointers made, may be the single most overrated player in Iowa basketball history? Totally sane.

“may” being the key word there, of course. He’s currently (in real life) twelfth on the list.
Your post kind of proves my point, no? Good player. Lots of drama etc....but how important a piece is he really? Look at the eleven guys ahead of him on the list. How many would you would consider “great” college basketball players? Hell ... four of them are from Penn State for gosh sakes. Respert, sure....Dee Brown, ok. Diebler (#1) played on a national finals team, I guess....
We’ve gotten a 7 and a 10 seed on JBo’s watch...
Again, everybody loves the kid because he’s a great hawkeye but...c’mon, man.
LOL

Let’s assume he plays next year. He WILL end up top 5 in assists and too 10 in scoring as well. Completely overrated lol.
If Garza comes back, I see no reason not to think about a Final Four possibility. The last time Iowa had a returning first-team All-American was in 1980 with Ronnie Lester so ...
If everyone coming back is healthy then Iowa will have plenty of outside shooting to take pressure off Garza. Iowa needs Nunge and Pemsl and any other bigs it can get to bolster the frontline.
With Garza and the rest of the team back, Iowa would probably be favorites in the B10:
--Maryland loses Cowan; Smith may leave early.
--MSU loses Cassius Winston
--Rutgers: will Ron Harper Jr. declare early?
--OSU loses Andre Wesson; what happens to DJC? Will Kaleb W. leave early?
--Michigan loses Zavier Simpson and Teske
--Penn State loses Lamar Stevens
--Illinois loses Feliz; will Ayo leave early?
--IU loses D. Green; TJD will declare early
--UW loses Pritzl
--Minny: Does Oturo leave early?
As far as the rest of the country goes?
--Kansas loses Moss so we know they'll be depleted
--About 100 other guys around the country will declare early to join the departing senior class and the Europeans for the slim chance of being one of the 30 guys picked in the first round of the NBA draft. Iowa will benefit from teams losing about 80 good college freshman, sophomores, and juniors who were dumb enough to think that they legitimately had a shot at the first round this year. So, yeah, if Iowa returns everyone then they probably would be in the preseason conversation as a competitor for the Final Four.
To win the conference it will depend on the schedule they get and the defense. Also, no shot at a national title if they don't improve defense. I can only remember one team that had a defense not ranked in the top 15 on Ken Pom that won a title. Another thing is that teams that win titles generally have first round draft picks. But if everyone comes back and everyone is healthy, definitely have a chance to contend for the conference title and a chance to maybe get to a final four.
He’s out there seeking attention?
Did he seek out to be interviewed or did they ask to interview him? Big difference. Besides the TV networks showing him during games I haven’t heard much about him.Yes....was that a serious question?

Clown fans can't come to this board bragging about their basketball program anymore so they just try to use this forum to tear down anything Iowa related no matter how old the news is. Seriously, maybe every parent of every player that's played at Moo U has a spotless past, but I seriously doubt that and I don't see Iowa fans trying to dredge up dirt on them.
I don't see how talking about Frank Garza's past is tearing down Iowa?
Could you explain how it’s good for Iowa or how it’s good for Luka?
It doesn’t say anything about either Iowa or Luka. Not good or bad. It’s an interesting fact that people don’t have the emotional maturity of a baby can discuss without crying about it being unfair or playing the victim.
