Did he accidentally spoil that Connor and Joe won’t be on next years team? Has the other guys you’d think of but not them
Connor should be healthy by the start of next year if he wanted to and Joe hasn’t said one word about anythingWell Connor is having major surgery and Joe is leaving soooooo...

Even before the most recent injury I wondered if Connor might be done after this year. His greater upside is baseball and with injuries and Covid he has barely played it at Iowa. Maybe he is happy he got to play one season with his brother and now will focus on getting healthy and baseball.Did he accidentally spoil that Connor and Joe won’t be on next years team? Recovery is 6 months at minimum and that would be October. That is not enough time to get into basketball shape is it? If I was him I would focus on baseball.Connor should be healthy by the start of next year if he wanted to and Joe hasn’t said one word about anything

That would be ideal but I'd say there's a better chance of him playing 2 more years than zero, I think he's gonna milk this situation for all it's worth....he woulda asked to sit awhile ago if it was about what's best for the team. Frank just knows he's not worth mentioning when it comes to things to get excited about next year. I appreciate his encouragement but losing our best player and coach in the same year is going to hurt. We lucked out to have Luka and Frank as long as we didEven before the most recent injury I wondered if Connor might be done after this year. And he has to have surgery on both. Optimistically, he could be back lat December.Recovery is 6 months at minimum and that would be October. That is not enough time to get into basketball shape is it? If I was him I would focus on baseball.
And don't forget that CMac gave up his 1st year schollie for the team. I know, it's no big deal financially but don't kid yourself, it means a lot to be a "scholarship" player. This is a bad take on the situation on multiple levels:
1. Connor is going to milk the situation for another two years. He would have asked to sit if it was about what was best for the team.- Connor has done whatever has been asked for him on this team. He knew his best attributes were to pass and play defense. He did not force shots and covered whomever was needed to the best of his ability. He has always been a team guy. Most players are going to think that what is best for the team involves them playing because they are competitive and think that they can win. You can criticize the results, but do not criticize the effort or determination.
2. Frank knows he is not worth mentioning - Frank has been highly complimentary of Fran and the entire Team. He appreciates more than anyone except Luka the way Connor was able to get Luka the ball in a position to score and would not disparage Connor in the manner you are suggesting.
3. We lucked into having Luka and Frank as long as we did - I will agree with this in terms of us fans. I do not agree with it in terms of Fran and the Iowa program. Fran put a lot of time into recruiting Luka, even before other programs saw the potential. Fran got to know Luka and Frank and saw the kind of people that they were and how hard Luka would work. This was not just luck on Fran’s part.
It sounds good in theory, but our rotation is a solid 9 WITHOUT Sandfort and CMac and Potential Transfer.I have been in favor of a short bench with 7-9 players. But, if next year's team plays to its strengths, it might be a run and gun attack, paired with a pressing frantic defense. A ten-man platooned rotation might keep people fresh.
Attacking Point: Joe T or Ulis
Kick-out three artists: CJ or Sandfort
Slashing wings: Pmac or Perkins
Attacking Stretch 4's, rebounding machines: Murray or Murray
Defensive, rebounding 5's: Jack or Josh or Transfer
Train to run constantly. Mix and match one player from each of the above groups.
Would be a lot of fun to play, and even more fun to watch. By the second year with this same group running it, it could be a work of art.
Use to be that walk-ons couldn't even eat at the same training table. Except getting tuition, books, and any other expenses that a scholarship covers, walk-ons get some of the smaller perks. Isn't that correct? And don't forget that CMac gave up his 1st year schollie for the team. I know, it's no big deal financially but don't kid yourself, it means a lot to be a "scholarship" player.
Only training table. No other scholarship athlete perks, not officially, anyway.Use to be that walk-ons couldn't even eat at the same training table. Except getting tuition, books, and any other expenses that a scholarship covers, walk-ons get some of the smaller perks. Isn't that correct?
Something I will never understand.
Player A isn't as talented as Person B thinks he should be, or gets too much playing time, or whatever. Person B dislikes Player A, not just as a player, but as a person. In the mind of Person B, Player A is greedy, selfish and probably lazy.
Happens all the time in the Iowa fan base to players and coaches. I don't get it.
