Absolutely LOVED Friends! Had a huge crush on Jen, I would literally be hanging out with my buddies on a Thursday night and when my watch said 6:50, I ditched them and headed home to watch. I had no idea this was even a thing.

For the Friends fans out there (and those who will click just to let us all know they've never watched it), what did you think?

Didn't know there was a friends reunion. Now don't care

I'd rather put a rusted scalpel blade in my nail bed than watch friends. It sucked then and I bet it sucks now. What do you people see in that show? Simply terrible. Just terrible. About as shitty as Mad About You. Barf.
Perhaps one’s own experiences coming of age impacts whether you find they show funny or banal. I found it hilarious but you have posted it wasn’t the most fun thing growing up Indian American in Iowa, and I think you are roughly the same age (45 to 55), so maybe the whole show is just irritating to you.

Trust me, if I was a cia agent, I'd talk like a canary if you subjected me to friends or mad about you. Holy f. Even the memories of those shows haunt me.

It’s interesting they didn’t pay for the music rights for their most famous scenes.

"You People!?!?!" WTF!

...just kidding.

Well, let's see, when Friends came out, the cast was only a few years older than me. I was living in the Air Force dorms hanging out with my single friends. My roommate and I bought two recliners for our dorms, we went to clubs, hung out at the local Anchorage coffee shop, tried picking up girls and all-in-all didn't have a real care in the world.

Nope. I have no clue how that show resonated with me.

Dude, your pinky has more acting talent than that ass clown ensemble. You might have been macking the ladies but did your strategy resemble Joey's or Ross'? I hope neither. Woah.

You know it wasn't a documentary, right? 😉

You're also, based on the sucess and ratings, in the minority, right?

To each their own, though. I get blasted for not liking Stepbrothers.

All the clips with people from India (and other countries) expressing their love for the show during the reunion show would seem to disagree with this take.
Indian people like Bollywood too. It gives me an aneurysm. Quit painting with a broad brush.

I'm painting with a broad brush? Dude, you're the one that posted "I don't think those shows resonate with minorities." not me.
All I did was point out that they had a segment with fans from around the world.
Project much?

No but you're picking and choosing a small sample size. Most people in India don't have a clue wtf Friends is. And yes it still sucks.

You beat me to it.

I watched Sanford and Son, The Cosby Show, The Jeffersons, etc. and I'm a late 40s white guy. I wish folks would quit thinking shows have to "look and sound like me" to resonate. If you don't like the show, that's fine, but Friends was a world-wide smash hit that ran 10 years and resonated with people all over the globe.

Can’t believe they didn’t reference the Mt Tibidabo episode. I thought that was the best friends episode they made.

I'm not doing any such thing as I'm not a producer of the show.
You on the other hand are guilty of what you accused me of.

Maybe you should consider becoming a producer and resuscitating the show. Now you can stream absolutely everything and I'm sure each of them is looking for a healthy paycheck :)

I watched Friends back in the day and was not fanatical about the show even then. I did enjoy it. I haven’t watched the series since it went off the air. All episodes are streaming on HBO Max so may be that I need to revisit …

CSB I hung out with David Schwimmer one night in Chi Town at his club the Dragon Room. He didn't need to act in Friends as that's exactly as he is in real life. Nice guy actually. For awhile it was just him and I sitting at the table talking about life and his fame. The next day he called and asked if we wanted to go to breakfast but we went with Billy Dec instead another Chicago celeb.

I used to live in the West Loop about 2 blocks from David's condo and used to see him at the coffee shop when he was in town. Seemed really reserved but everyone I know who ran into him said he was just a good dude. I've met Billy 2x and he was as cool as can be. Seemed pretty genuine.
