Frost & Nubs steal UCF’s returning starting S for 2018

Why do you say that? Are you worried husker nation might not like these ideas? I have faith that there are a lot of good people in Nebraska....so I'm sure this would catch on fast and in no time we could get the field renamed and Peter removed from the HOF.
I'm worried about all these drunk Iowa football players. Alcoholism kills.

Sounds like Iowa has another incident coming down the pipes. Probably involves another alcoholic.

Let's get these players help before it's too late.

Don't worry, Ferentz will discipline players appropriately....and he will not allow players to stay on the team that are an immediate threat to themselves and others. If only Tom Osborne had that same kind of approach....how many less victims would there be? That's why I think it would be such a great tribute (to the Nebraska victims) to remove Tom Osborne's name from the football field or rename it - 'Victims of Tom Osborne Field.' I'm game for whatever direction you want to take this, just let me know and I can help you get the petitions and protest organized.

Why are you not concerned about players and alcohol abuse? It isn't about suspending a player for a game, it's about the kids. We need to get these boys the help they need.

I absolutely am concerned and hope these players learn their lesson. For a first time alcohol offense - the players will be required to get help, serve community service (or equivalent) and will probably have a one game suspension. I am good with that. It's not like they sexually assaulted or raped someone and were allowed to stay on the team. That is just barbaric....who would allow that?

Good, we agree. These Iowa players need help. Too many drunks on one team. Let's help them before it's too late.
Seriously though, who would ever allow players to sexually assault and rape others and remain on the team?! Nobody, right?

To be fair, I don't buy into your liberal logic of blaming others for the actions of individuals. Ferentz is the HC, but he can't be blamed for multiple Hawkeye players getting thrashed over the past 6 months. Personal responsibility, my friend. Live it.

Is there a reason why you won't answer my question (below)? I answered yours. Does this just not sit well with you for some reason? Is there just a little bit of guilt that seeps into your conscience when people release balloons over Tom Osborne Field?

Not even the slightest. It makes me want to load up on liquor and beer and see how long it takes me to surpass .129.

Jesus buddy. Stop living in the past. Was there bad stuff that happened? For sure, but depending on some of these kids situation if you completely leave them high and dry there is probably a good chance they could end up dead or in prison. You are going to have terrible people, but watch the Lawrence Phillips documentary and see if your opinion changes. Tom O, Dick Vermeil, and many other people tried to help the kid out because they knew what the consequence would be. Your holier than thou stance is actually pretty comical when you have probably never even come close to the position these coaches deal with on a daily basis. I'm sure Kirk has had plenty of instances over the years that aren't publicized of him making sure a troubled kid doesn't go down the wrong path, and will help in anyway they can.

You focus on the ending outcome, and ignore all of the details that happen behind the scenes that you probably have no idea of. But carry on.

All the Nebraska fans are lining up in this thread for the Scott Frost Machine.

Maybe time for you to leave? Seriously, what reason do you have to come to this site, if you're not a Hawkeye fan?

I have to leave because you aren't creative enough to come up with something else? Do you pay to be on this site? Do you run it? If not, then good try telling me to leave the sandbox on the playground that you play in. I'll hangout where I like. Until you're emotionally strong enough to handle fans from other teams here, it might be a good idea to breath deeply and relax. Maybe talk to a therapist about it. It can't hurt.

I've gone over this a number of times, so I'm not going to do it again. Either pay attention or quit asking the question. I have every right to be here that you do. You have ZERO more right to be here than anyone else, from any fanbase.

I think you're just upset that I can't be kicked-off (this site) for talking about how corrupt Nebraska and Tom Osborne were in the 80's and 90's. I'm sure you and other husker lovers would have reported me, if we were discussing on the Rivals husker site, after I first questioned Tom Osborne's ethics.....and I would have been kicked-off immediately.

That said, I actually don't mind that you (and others) come over here...I welcome it. I like to educate you (and other husker lovers) on why things are different at The University of Iowa and in Iowa (in general), and why what Osborne did - would never be tolerated and his name would never even come close to being printed on a bathroom stall, let alone on the football field - in the state of Iowa. GO HAWKS!

So you agree with how Tom Osborne handled Lawrence Phillips and Christian Peter...even though it allowed them to hurt more innocent people at the University of Nebraska?

Just answer the question then. It's not that hard, unless you can't read.
You ask a lot of questions. I answered the latest, about feeling guilty when balloons are released. I realize the only thing you obsess over more than things that happened 20+ years ago, is me. But let's keep the focus where it belongs, on the young Hawkeyes suffering from alcoholism. How can we help them?

I always giggle at how hurt so many Hawks fans seem about the way some other free board on the internet is run. I can tell how much it bothers many by how much it comes up.

I don't really care what you say about Osborne. You've demonstrated that you're more interested in discrediting Osborne than you are in actually understanding the situations. Do what you want. Like I said, he's helped a lot of at-risk young men grow and and become good husbands, fathers, and leaders. He's also had times where the risks he took backfired on him, and it will forever taint his legacy. All I know is he is one of the most respected college football coaches in the history of the game by former players and peers alike.

The reason I hang out here is because there is generally an awful lot of misinformed Hawkeye chatter about Nebraska. So I started hanging out and sharing information as to why or why not they have their information right. It got interesting, met a few cool people and some turds as well, so I have stuck around.

I know you love thinking you're morally better than me or others because of the teams we cheer for, and that's very self-righteous of you. I'm sure that's not the first time you've been told that.

I wish I could post on the Husker site but I got banned because I have the word "hawk" in my handle. That's it, I don't even remember posting anything on that board. I was just watching this incredible train wreck after each Nebby loss. It was pure entertainment. Just a bunch of thin skinned mods over there.

So you agree with how Tom Osborne handled Lawrence Phillips and Christian Peter...even though it allowed them to hurt more innocent people at the University of Nebraska? And you agree that Tom Osborne should still have a football field named after him and Christian Peter should be in the HOF? Just wanted to clarify those points. I can then make a better judgement on whether you have a moral compass.

Says the sensitive iowa fan still reeling from things that happened in the 1990s.
Don't you think the victims are still reeling from things that happened in the 1990's....especially when they see the people that hurt them (and allowed them to be hurt) - still being honored at the University of Nebraska?

It's not for me to agree or disagree. I wasn't the coach, and have none of the details, I'm just telling you that there are a bunch of different things happening behind the scenes when these happen at schools around the country and to just focus on 1 particular thing is stupid. Whether you agree or not, if this happened today it would have been a lot different. Social media is a game changer.

It's a lesser offense, but it both of the current arrests of the Iowa players I think the first one where the kid got into the cop car is stupid to suspend. Kid tried to do the right thing and 25 years ago would have probably just have run a ton of stadium steps. In 2018 he is going to get crucified and people are going to be calling for suspensions.

Things have changed a lot from the mid-90's, but the fact that hasn't changed is most of these coaching staffs are father figures to these kids whether you like it or not. In a lot of cases sports is their only outlet out of a bad situation. These coaches know that, and I think try to do their best to make sure these kids make it out of that situation if possible. You can't save everyone, but they try.

The mods over there are very sensitive you are correct. It is actually pretty comical they monitor it that way since it is a free message board.

Are you hoping that I will sympathize with you? I don't mean to come across as mean-spirited. That's not the type of person I generally am. But I've said this so many times to folks over here and it doesn't seem to sink in, so I'll try being blunt: I'm sorry the mods act differently over there. I have nothing to do with it. I don't make the rules and I don't enforce them. I don't care about their board practices. It's honestly some of the reason Husker fans come over here - to escape the echo chamber that a team board can become without outside contribution. It's not unique, it's an echo chamber over here too, but more banter is allowed. Fan banter is part of the enjoyment of the game. I don't know what else to tell you. Get over it.

I will say that I see Hawks over there that have been around for a while and are very respectable and respectful contributors, and others on the board have come to appreciate their perspective. There is also an OSU and MSU fan or two that hang around, and they've been there for years. A gopher or two as well.

Why would fans visit sites of conference foes? So crazy!
Occasionally, Ok its the offseason, I too have been known to visit other teams boards. Daily posting screams insecurities. Its cool, Last year we didn't have a chance and were going to learn, this year it was all Riley's fault and we are going to learn(but maybe not until next year) and next year we are going to learn. yawn. Seriously though, try winning before talking crap, at best you guy can say the 2019 game will be competitive. Right now you are just the little dog barking because it needs attention.

I do find it interesting that when the attempt is made to classify Nebraska as a 'Blue Blood' that 20 years ago is perfectly acceptable to use. But if it is an attempt to discredit Nebraska 20 years ago is irrelevant. It is part of the challenge of dealing with the Big Red followers. People talk about Peter and Phillips but they were just the most prominent of the time. There were far more instances than that and if their fans think that honoring Peter and Osborne is appropriate than so be it. There will not be a Pierre Pierce honor bestowed anywhere. The culture has changed in the 20 years, things are far more visible. Honest question, do people view KF as being quicker to suspend, disclipline etc. than other coaches? Dantonio? Meyer? .....

We hired the most sought after HC in the off season. There's reason for optimism, but more so than that, I don't need my favorite team to win to post on an iowa board. You're iowa, for crying out loud. Perennial 4 loss Iowa stuck with the same coach and zero hope for any advancement. Congrats? Your trophy case is still just as empty as it's always been, save for a few meaningless pieces of hardware given to iowa after beating a terrible coaching staff from Lincoln.

It's funny how 20+ years ago is irrelevant to hawkeyes UNLESS it's to try and slam Nebraska over arrests.

I mean. Iowa fans think football started in 2002, yet when it's convenient for them they bring up 1995.

Good, we agree. These Iowa players need help. Too many drunks on one team. Let's help them before it's too late.

Your cute little attempt to discredit Ferentz and Co. here isn’t even slightly amusing. There’s just no humor or irony in it. It’s pure hyperbole geared to defend the inactivity of Tom Osborne. Surely you can come up with something more effective...?

Snyder in December, Reiff and Wirfs. Hopefully that's the last of the alcohol-related off-field drama for Iowa. We shall see...

Totally agree....110%.

At least the Iowa city police are on the up and up. Lincoln police force-fed Suh until he blew under, then called penishead...
I know getting drunk and making a fool out of yourself is the Hawkeye way, but damn bruh, it's barely 4:00PM. How thrashed are you?
