Frost & Nubs steal UCF’s returning starting S for 2018

Snyder in December, Reiff and Wirfs. Hopefully that's the last of the alcohol-related off-field drama for Iowa. We shall see...

The horror of it all! Two OWIs and a public intox! It’s definitely on equally despicable ground as beating up and sexually assaulting women. I mean, are you really trying to tie all of this together to save face for Tom Osborne? You’re pathetic.

I know getting drunk and making a fool out of yourself is the Hawkeye way, but damn bruh, it's barely 4:00PM. How thrashed are you?
The Suh story is well known....and I heard first-hand from someone from within debbyland...at least the iowa kids have a chance to learn from this...unlike Suh who got away with things and is still a fricking waste of space...

Those 1 game suspensions sure do set an example and put an end to the hawkeyes drunkenness. I mean, after Snyder's arrest in December, wait.....nvm.

Horribly weak. Tell me, how many games did Christian Peter sit during his career at Nebraska? In the aftermath of 8 arrests and four convictions? You’re gonna throw rocks living in that glass house?? Lmao

Don’t forget. Christian Peter was also elected to the Nebraska Football HOF. That basically tells you all you need to know about the state of Nebraska.

Your post is filled with a lot of Fake News. Congrats on batting 0.00000.

His bad, it was only 3.......makes him a felon?

"LPD spokeswoman Sgt. Kathy Phillips said officers on the scene of the accident found in their records system that Williams had been convicted of two previous DUI charges in 2004 and 2009. The 2009 conviction occurred in California. The records did not indicate the location of the 2004 offense.

Third-offense DUI with a blood-alcohol level of .150 or more is considered a Class III-A felony, punishable by up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Williams is also facing a revocation of his driver's license for up to 15 years.

Lincoln Police Sgt. Jeri Roeder said Williams rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection of Ninth and N. Williams was alone in his car; the other car had three occupants — a female Uber driver and two passengers. None of the three sustained injuries. Roeder said Williams was “completely cooperative” with police upon their arrival at the scene."

"Morgan was initially charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, a felony, and possession of paraphernalia after a traffic stop outside a 7-Eleven on the afternoon of May 6, the day after students finished final exams at UNL."

"Husker safety Antonio Reed, who was with Morgan, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor marijuana possession."

"LINCOLN - University of Nebraska-Lincoln police confirmed they arrested two NU football players this past week.

Police arrested incoming freshman wide receiver Jariah Tolbert late Wednesday night for possession of marijuana. UNL Police said Tolbert ran from an officer in a campus parking lot before being caught and arrested.

Officials also confirmed UNL Police arrested sophomore defensive back Boaz Joseph last Saturday after he stole a bicycle. Joseph took a "Bait Bike" which is a bike tracked by GPS.

This is the second time in the past month officials arrested a husker football player for stealing bikes on campus. Linebacker Josh Banderas faced similar charges in May."

"Nebraska led all Big Ten schools in ejections, as 238 people were ejected from Memorial Stadium during Cornhuskers home games."

"A Lincoln middle school industrial arts teacher and former Nebraska football player has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a child."

Not sure putting all of these together gets to 20 years ago, keep going?

Someone went and got themselves TRIGGERED. I love it. Nothing like a fan passionate about defending and honoring a legacy of corruption. GBR!

He does pretty well trying to defend something that can't be defended. I'll give him that. The effort is there.

UNL WR coach last year? How many games did he miss?
Zero after 4 arrests.

This is stupid. The obvious mistake he is alluding to is that the WR coach was banned from the team for the remainder of August and suspended without pay for the first 4 games of the season. He was not allowed to attend games. He went into counseling and treatment and pledged to help the athletic dept and community in outreach to prevent drunk driving.

The thing "hardliners" will never get is that a pound of flesh isn't always required or most effective. Sure, it pleases the masses ignorant to the situation and the person, and it pisses them off when they don't agree with how a situation is handled, but just because you think it should have been handled one way doesn't mean its the only correct way to handle it. You're probably the same people that are more worried about punishing people than you are about people making positive change. Positive change can come from a lot of different avenues. Williams received a punishment from the law, University and complied with all of the requirements.

It's possible to say you would have chosen a different punishment and also realize that your way isn't the only way. What resulted from this? Good or bad? What has Williams taught his players about accepting responsibility, committing to change? Do you know? If not, maybe evaluate that before judging the punishment. If you can't do that, then you're one of those people that is simply looking for a pound of flesh to satisfy your self.

A top safety from a national championship team? Nebraska is so lucky!

With all these recent pick ups and revelations, they should be able to keep it within 30 this year.

Yes we should. You guys should win again, but you aren't getting a Mike Riley team to play against this year.

You don't get to facing a felony charge and it being your third offense and have much of a leg to stand on when talking about accepting responsibility. He's fortunate that the people he hit with his vehicle were okay.

You're right, he is fortunate. And I know how it works.

I can see it both ways. I understand just cutting him loose for his third instance in under 15 years. I also understand Mike Riley/UNL administration saying, "this is the first time I've had an issue with you, I'm going to punish you, but I believe you can be better than this. I'm giving you a second chance with me. If you break the rules again, you're gone," which is essentially what they did.

Honest question, in your opinion if he were an average recruiter does he get the 'my first incident with you' treatment?

Honest question, in your opinion if he were an average recruiter does he get the 'my first incident with you' treatment?
here is my honest response:
1) if I were the coach, I wouldn't have hired him if he wasn't good at the job I hired him to do. At the point of the incident, his acumen would not have been considered.
2) We don't know what he was like around the program. I think I would need to see if felt like he truly realized the impact of his decision/problem, if I felt like he would change course, be remorseful, and be a better person on the other side. I think stuff like this can be used as a testament to people around you that things like this don't have to be the end of the story. Nobody deserves an opportunity at redemption, but I think a certain amount of grace and mercy for mistakes like this can make the difference in a person's life. If he ever had an issue with it again he'd be done.
3) If I were the coach, and it were the first instance on my watch, I'm not sure how I would feel punishing him for mistakes me made up to 14 years earlier. If there were a second issue on my watch, that would be the only second chance he would get with something as serious as alcohol and driving.

Sooo I just read that Central Florida’s starting safety Tre Neal, who was also 2nd on the team in tackles, will grad transfer to Nubraska and be eligible immediately to play this season.

Snake oil at it’s finest! First they get a commit (probably bought and paid for) that came from a lifelong Hawkeye family, and now they managed to steal UCF’s starting safety and top returning tackler?! Are you kidding me? Tell me there isn’t some shady business going on over there in Lincoln. Why would he leave UCF just a couple weeks before the start of the season.

Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure the nub’s defensive backfield was it’s poorest position group so this kid most likely will be a starter right away since he was a damn good player in 2017.

Nebraska needs to be investigated.
You sound pretty salty.

Bo was 3-1 vs Iowa. He coaches at the FCS level now. It's ok to admit that Nebraska will field a team that competes now that we don't have the nicest 70 year old coach who starts HIP-HIP-HOORAY chants in the locker room.

It's like if Iowa hired Jeff Brohm; I'd be like damn, Iowa has a chance to be really good under him but I still hate Iowa. No one is expecting Iowa fans to get on their knees for Nebraska and become Husker fans (even tho you all were Nebraska fans in the 90s). But it's ok to have an educated opinion and not just spew hate.
You're coming off real smart in this thread.

Suck it up Hawk fans. Your time at the big boy’s table is over. Thanks for keeping our seat warm, but you all can go to the short table now....or the short bus.....Go Big Red...
I feel like I've heard this about every year since 2002.

Don't stop there. Correct his other obvious mistake while you iowa fans continue to deflect away from all of the hawkeye drunks.
Says the person bringing up drinking citations to deflect away from Tom Osborne letting women beaters and sexual assaulters carry him to glory.
