Ft. Lauderdale airport

It's weird when Little Don is right.
I don't think he would have cared, other than he was inconvenienced having to land at a different airport, and not being able to get to his own vehicle. God forbid Donny is put out by a storm.

NW Iowa had yearly totals in 2022 ranging from 16 to 24 inches.
Extreme weather is so commonplace yet our governor continues to deny the science and just rejected federal grant money to develop a plan to mitigate CO2 release in the # 1 producing CO2 state in the nation.
She joined 3 other states in this move.
South Dakota,Arkansas, and Florida.
All with governors seeking higher office.....hmmm.

Looks like excellent water skiing at the airport this morning.

Damn, 20 inches of rain in a day.

All you FL peeps above the waterline this morning?

We had a 10am flight yesterday that, obviously, was cancelled and we had to be home today. It was impossible to get anything, so we rented a car and drove eighteen hours home.

You realize their are 4 airports within about 4 hours of there right( 2 within an hour).

No flights available to get us to our airport in a reasonable timeframe, and the flights to be had were over $1,000 each. One airport closed for two days has a tremendous cascading effect.

Best scenario was to spend $2,000 on a flight to Philly (always with a connection) that would have put us there late Friday. Then book an Uber for $150 to Wilmington. Perhaps arrive home early Saturday. And that is if the predicted storms didn’t delay things further.

Instead we’ve been home for several hours, got a few hours sleep, and now we’re eating lunch and catching up on laundry.

Did you knock one out on the drive home? That's a pretty dreary drive.

I’m in absolute disbelief on how easily manipulated South Floridians are.

The port Everglades is basically next to the airport. South Florida gets our fuel from tankers that offload into Semis that them distribute the fuel. The port flooded so semis couldn’t be loaded.

This resulted in gas stations sporadically running out of fuel on Sunday. My wife got gas Sunday afternoon and there wasn’t a line.

Trucks were starting to distribute fuel Monday but the freaking news stations and radio stations start talking about how people had to look for fuel and boom….everyone goes out to get gas at the same time. Lines everywhere. I got no less than 5 calls yesterday from coworkers and friends that said they found gas. All waited for at least 30 minutes. I asked everyone one of them if they were out of fuel and all of them said they had a half a tank when they filled up.

So freaking dumb

This was posted in another thread. Liddle Marco is our SENIOR US Senator. This is his third term in the US Senate. His party has had 100% control of this state for over 20 years. You'd think he'd be able to do more than cry about the gas shortages on social media.

If Tater Tot wasn't repeatedly slamming his face into Bob Iger's fist, figuratively of course, and of his own volition, Liddle Marco would be the runaway biggest joke in this state. He's such a loser that he somehow manages to lose out on being the biggest loser.

DeSantis didn't send out the emergency alert. You need to quit reading negative people that continue to make up sh*t. You are wasting your time.

No S Sherlock...how could he press the emergency button when he is in Maine or Maryland or wherever his imploding non-campaign fund raising tour is taking him.

You are the one posting that DeSantis is at fault and should be blamed for the emergency alert.
