The Gods Must Be Crazy

First time I watched it I LOLed more than any other movie. The sequel, however, was not so good.

For repeat viewing, it`s Raising Arizona.
The Gods Must Be Crazy is up there with Howard the Duck as the worst movie I have ever seen.

I remember some funny movies as well as side-splitting scenes (at least at the time of release).

Movie - Planes, Trains, & Automobiles. That movie was hilarious--Those Aren't Pillows!, the F-bomb ticket counter, driving the wrong way...it was great!

Scenes - The Hangover when the naked guys sprung from the trunk and Ace Ventura when Ace climbed out of the rhinos arse.

Can't narrow it to one but my four favorites would be:

Rat Race.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
The Great Outdoors.

I've watched all four many times and still laugh throughout any one of them.

My SIL isn't into swearing. A few years back her college age daughters were watching PTA at our house during Thanksgiving break when we all came into the family room to watch it too. No pic and I were sweating what was going to happen when it hit the "F Bomb ticket counter" scene.

To everyone's surprise our SIL was laughing so hard she had to run to the bathroom......which made us all laugh even harder 🤣

Watching blazing saddles right now.... Just don't know if there's a funnier movie ever made. And we'll never see anything like it again. Anything funnier?
Dumb and dumber, wedding crashers, and meet the parents are probably my top 3.

The campfire scene of Blazing Saddles gets me every time. Too bad we’ll never see another movie like it, the PC crowd wouldn’t allow it.

As far as other comedies go, Airplane has to be in the conversation. Plenty of quality comedy films in the mid 70s thru the early 80s - Animal House, Stripes, Kentucky Fried Movie - just to name a few. Comedies in the 90s were good for some cheap laughs but generally speaking, just didn’t have the same touch of comedic genius that the previous generation had.
Tarantino seems to be doing ok.

Dumb and dumber
Stripes
Planes, trains, and automobiles
Horrible Bosses

Caddyshack had some of the funniest scenes but didn't maintain it. Lots of down time

Since the OP asked for the "funniest," not best, I'm going with Dumb and Dumber and Airplane - I can't control myself when I watch those. HM to Weekend at Bernie's.

My late mother, who didn't have the best sense of humor, was flying back from London with her stuffy Questers group when Weekend at Bernie's came on as the flight movie. She said the whole plane was up for grabs - people dying from laughing.

The Big Bus
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

that’s right, I just went old skool
I've laughed out load in 3 movies, one of which was It's a Mad, mad, mad world. The other 2 were Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Fargo.

I laughed all the way through the Exorcist...granted, under the influence of something I won't detail. Audience was not please with me. When she came downstairs and wet herself, I lost it.

I like both but rat race is also a reboot of it’s a mad mad mad world I believe.

cant believe spaceballs and galaxy quest haven’t been mentioned yet. Also Game Night.
Interesting. Never realized that but have not seen Mad mad mad world. Will have to try and watch it.
