I hope we go 11-1 and I am proven wrong... but literally 2 weeks after a HUGE contract extension we get this crap.. that was the absolute worst 2ND half I have ever seen from Iowa, coaching or otherwise and it was against an fcs school... fans of other teams mocked Iowa after the contract extension saying oh now Kirk will just coast out his contract and go back to just trying not to lose... I thought they were just jealous and misinformed and then we get what we saw yesterday. I'm not calling for anyone's head or anything just expressing my frustration with the crappy coaching that just happens to come after he has 45million $$$ guaranteed to him for 10 years... it's just frustrating
Kirk needed this extension because there was the possibility of Iowa face-planting this year after a record-setting 2015. And if that happened then all the heat from 2010-2014 that Iowa and KF thought they had put out will come back and then some.
And a bad 2016 would've set up a potential coaching for your job season in 2017 where Iowa most likely would've pulled the trigger and bought out KF's contract if they had suffered bad seasons in 2016 and 2017.
Now they could win 5 games or less over the next 5-6 years and we're stuck with Kirk.
