This. Proud of it. Gigantic difference between the parties has been exposed and it is actually a positive for Democrats. When they truly see there is a problem they try their best to change vs closing eyes and felatio.

The question is whether the Dems will be deft enough to replace the whole ticket or whether they'll lapse into another "it's her turn" mistake, like they did in 2016.

My main worry at this point is that the Dems may not be able to get their best people to run. Why would a top contender want to taint their 2028 chances by a dismal loss in November?

There's a certain irony to the fact that the 'prominent' legislators (and for that matter, donors) who are predicting a massacre seem to reside disproportionately in states that the democrats will carry comfortably.
I'd prefer a true open convention, not one that says certain democrats (like kennedy) aren't invited. They may worry about beating each other up debate style so I wonder what the format would be. Does each candidate just get 5 minutes to give their messaging and then people vote on who they want?
I just find it humerous, that outside of Romney and Kinnzinger, these folks are all bootlickers. They all called Trump a danger. Now they all kiss his ass.

To be fair, there was several more that were not on board, they either saw the writing on the wall and abandoned ship or they were pushed/primarried out. People like Paul Ryan, Jeff Flake, Liz Cheney.
The MAGA takeover of the party is essentially complete - with a handful of exceptions in the senate and some governorships.

I think this is a convenient way to clear the decks. If Kamala wins great. If not then in 2 years the dems take back congress and in four years they nominate someone more competent.
I guess it all depends on whether you think Trump does existential damage to our country in that timeframe.
No, the point is that even without the debate…Biden’s inner circle, cabinet, etc HAD to have know of Joe’s continued cognitive decline, yet they tried to hide it from the American public.
How do you see it going? His cabinet holds a press conference without him and says "We feel that Joe is getting old."
