Gotta feel bad for Iowa State today & for their future

IMO, you haven't really been flaming the hawks lately. I know you care about my opinion too. :)

Thanks. I didn't think so either. I like the way the young guys are playing for the basketball team and I like the recruiting class and t he BF and KOK hires. If that is disparaging, I guess I am guilty.

Feel sorry for them!?!? If allowed, I'd pack Lil' Brother in a shipping box and send 'em to Sumatra with the words, "Eat me." on the outside of the box.

Ten years! I want ten years of Iowa State sucking at everything before I'll even consider feeling tepid toward their fortunes.
There are3 things in life I don't wish for.

Sympathy for Iowa State, stale popcorn, and above all- a Bo Ryan return.

Congrats on that big road win at Texas tonight Clowns......Oops, nevermind.

Ahhh life on the road in conference play is tough isn't it little Hawks? Hey at least you guys have one true road win on the year against power house Rutgers. They're a really great program Lotta success. Big time recruits pouring in there. Well good luck the rest of the way the CBI or CIB or whatever it's called is still a realistic goal though. Future is really really bright though can probably only go up from here.

78-64 the better team won. Cheer up little bro, some day isu won't be laughed at but that day isn't today.

Does any kind of cable network cover the CBI does anyone know I may just tune in you guys are really playing really well really pulling hard for the little Hawks.

Well Matt Thomas and Monte Morris are heading to their 4th NCAA tournament. They are 3-1 vs. Iowa. Naz his fifth tournament. I'm sure that one night was embarassing for em though you are right. I'm dead serious though is the CBI broadcast on television does anyone know? I wanna see these freshman superstars in action. The field will likely be pretty dang robust.

Again Monte, Naz and Matt were owned by a bunch of Iowa freshmen. They simply weren't good enough to defeat us. You would think they would have been ready for their self described Super Bowl. Maybe Monte should have prepared more for the game instead of planning on how he was going to celebrate.

Little bro with their little or bro syndrome. More please.

78-64 do you want the YouTube to see how bad our freshmen owned the clowns?

More little or bro syndrome please.

I don't know what you're upset about I'm pulling for those youngsters! It's not their fault they were forced into action as freshman now was it?

Not upset at all. Why are clown fans so pissed that they were owned by a bunch of freshmen at Iowa?

Each time you post you further the stereotype that isu fans have little bro syndrome.

We want more. We want more. We want more.

Hey buddy I told ya I'm simply pulling for ya guys. I'd really like to get to that 6 line in the NCAA tournament Iowa is currently Iowa States "bad loss". Need to get these Hawkeye youngsters a couple more Ws get them into the CBI and make that ugly loss look a little better for the Clones.

That win over a Vandy should help. I mean they only lost today by 20 to give Missouri their 7th win of the year.

That is bound to really impress the committee.

Current Vanderbilt RPI rank: 47
Current Iowa RPI rank: Squeezed right in there between St. Bonaventure and Yale at 96!

Come on youngster Hawks let's goooo!!

That loss to Missouri by 20 will really help them and then of course help the clowns.

Texas lost yet again today so that will help the clowns even more.

6 seed for the clowns isn't delusional at all. Clown fans will tell you just ask.

More little bro syndrome.

Seeing as how ISU was projected as a 7 seed on Friday and won this evening doesn't seem too crazy to think we could move up a spot to a 6 seed. Crazier things have happened right ; )

Especially consodering both Xavier and St Mary's lost and were current 6 seeds.

Too bad for the clowns that the outcomes of games aren't determined soley by RPI rankings.

Or maybe Monte and company really think that is true so they don't need to show up and play.

There it is again, isu fan wetting themselves over pure fantasy. Still wonder why isu is laughed at?

Fantasy is still fantasy. When was the last time or any time for r that matter that these so called experts got he brackt right?

Ha Lunardi is pretty dang good. Isn't exactly rocket science. Well good luck the rest of the way I better get some shut eye. Stay in that top 100 RPI do us proud. Pulling for a favorable draw in the CBI for your Hawks!

You mean you aren't "So Proud" of 78-64? Probably best to go with "Alternative Facts" at least then clown fans can sleep better.

Jeez, dude.

78-64. Your seniors simply aren't good enough to defeat our freshmen.

This line of thinking is just absurd. It's a road game in college basketball. The rest of the season shows which team is better. Unless you want to argue Iowa State football was better than Iowa in 2002, these things happen.

There it is again isu fan demands that the Iowa game be ignored. They play again today I don't see the outcome being all that different. Unless of ourse we also ignore the Vandy, TCU and Texas games.

Was there an injury to a key isu player that allowed the 78-64 beat down to occur? Something no one still knows about?

If not then your 2002 football argument is meaningless. Or must this be ignored as well?

yes, Solomon young was injured. So Iowa State 2002 football was better than Iowa that year. Thanks for settling that.

When Iowa State beats Iowa in football, these are the following reasons:

1) Fluke
2) Super Bowl
3) Iowa more interested in Big Ten games
4) Iowa State places all emphasis on this game, none on rest of season (see #2).
5) No win situation for Iowa

When Iowa manages to beat ISU in basketball (cant recall the number, but its like 1 of last 7 or 8), they are suddenly superior.

No honest ISU fan would claim that they had a better program the years they won the head to head football game. For the most part, Iowa has gone on to have better seasons, but "on that day" ISU was better.

Why is this seasons basketball game any different? Iowa beat them soundly, but ISU has gone on to have a much better season, and are highly likely to play in 6th straight NCAA tourney. Iowa is likely to play in CBI or maybe NIT.

This will sound like a Hawkeye football fan, but I will sacrifice a non-conference loss to Iowa in December, and do well in Big 12 and play in NCAAs. I seem to recall a similar dialogue from Hawk fans regarding a September loss to ISU in football.

After reading this thread, I just found it funny (and a bit hypocritical) to see all the "78-64" comments.

When Solomon averages more than 14 points you will have a point. Let us know when his production would have made any difference.

Someday this may occur but that day isn't today.

isu fans love their selective time frame arguments. No isu fan will admit when Iowa is better they simply state scoreboard.

I find it hypocritical to find how unacceptable this is now that the shoe is on the other foot.

I don't think the Big Ten allows its teams to play in those tournaments. I thought I remember hearing PSU wanted to play in one last year or year prior and the big ten said nope. They said its the NCAA, NIT, or bust.

ISU is having a decent season, but they seem to be jekyl/hyde. The Big 12 is tough, but ISU got their tournament solidifying win at KU. They can coast the rest of the year. This team could make the Sweet 16, they could also get bounced out in the first round. For a group of seniors, they are not very consistent.

I still wouldn't be shocked to see ISU in the NIT. There's a lot of bball left & it feels like ISU is due for a good losing streak. They haven't played their worst bball of the season but it feels like it's coming.

Penn State played in the CBI in 2014 and then in 2015 3-4 Big Ten teams turned down an invite to the tourney, but nothing that was mandated by the league as far as I know.
