Gotta feel bad for Iowa State today & for their future

I couldn't help but notice you didn't mention Iowa State's two conference tournament championships. That's a feat Iowa hasn't reached, but of course a team has to at least get by their first opponent to accomplish that.

Selective time frames to make clown fans feel better about themselves.

If isu was as awesome as clown fans think they are this wouldn't be necessary. Tell us how it really is though we know you aren't shy.

I love the "bubble" Iowa hawkeye basketball threads. The thirst to be in there with the big boys is very veey real. The RPI rank of nearly 100 is also very very real.

One of the latest quotes in there and I quote..."UNO is currently 12-11 and not considered a bad loss". Yes, that's University of Nebraska Omaha. What kind of program does not consider a loss at home to UNO a bad loss???

isu is elite only in their eyes. Rinse and repeat. UAB is sure of it.

Yeah I didn't list that because no one gives a shit about conference tournament championships. If they did maybe Mr. March Steve Alford would still be here.

Iowa and their fans sure as heck better care this year (and most years for that matter) you'll need to win it (which would be a Christmas miracle) to get into the tournament.

Do you think the committee knows we didn't win the B10 tournament the last few years? We're they under the false impression that we did and that's how we got in?

Sorry buddy losing the play in game doesn't mean you made the tournament. That's why they call it the PLAY IN game. You play yourself INTO the tournament.

We were in the play in game last year? Man, I must have been really drunk because I don't remember that at all. And the year before too?

isu is all about "fake news" and "alternative facts".

Hey they're comparable to Xavier though, in the last decade, well last five years, but totally ignore NCAA tournament results but definitely look at conference tournaments, yeah that's it, conference tournaments that's the most important thing, if there's one tournament you want to do well in, that's the one.

Are you guys gonna be nervous when they announce the NIT brackets? Mannnn would it be nice to get in there. You should throw a watch party. Pizza, beer, all of it.

The NCAA tournament doesn't have any play in games.

Don't get me wrong, our young guys down low could dominate ISU for the next couple years... That said, Lindell Wigginton is a border line 5 star. I wouldn't say they don't have "crap".

Im talking about whats currently on the roster. 3 years worth of recruiting classes.

Freshman are a big unknown. Im sure the pg is going to be decent but it will take allot more than that.

Seeds in the NCAA tournament last five years:

Xavier: 10, Did not make tourney, 12, 6, 2
Iowa State: 8,10, 3, 3, 4

Xavier is currently projected as a 5 seed. Iowa State a 7.

Id say that's pretty dang comparable. I know reading isn't your strong suit I clearly stated Xavier has been far more successful in the tournament.
Xavier's been more successful in the tourney AND the regular season. ISU is comparable to a Vanderbilt. An average team in a crappy conference.

Enjoy the last gasp of "success".

Might be a decade before ISU sees another ncaa tournament.

Hopefully it wont be one and done, but it probably will.
You may be right and I know it would be a lot of people's dream for ISU basketball to fall apart. There is also a chance with Jackson, Babb, Young, Kasongo, Lard, Jakolby Long already on the team for next year, a top 25 recruiting class and 3 more scholarships for Juco/Grad Transfers that can be handed out, that next year still has quite a bit of promise.

It must really gall you clown trolls to know that our miserable little program kicked your ass this year and did it without our second leading scorer. Why don't you all just take your little circle jerk back to cyfan where there is never heard a discouraging word (until you lose another game, and then you talk about how clueless your coach is).

Lol Jackson, Long, Babb and Young combined for three whole points tonight. Quite the core to build around there.

Can only be said behind anonymous message board name.

Can we crash your NIT party? Nevermind. A strong no for Nattie light & Jeff's pizza.

As I stated earlier in thread, ISU will be in the NIT. I just hope we get to play them. They'll probably be a 1 or 2 seed in NIT so they'll have home court.

Absolutely. Have you paid attention the last decade or so?!

I wouldn't say they're a crappy conference, and I thought we were talking about this year.

Regardless, Iowa State losing to Texas tonight should pretty much shut the Cyclone fans up. I notice they are conspicuously absent now.

After last night's loss at Texas, I have to say that I feel bad for Iowa State today and I feel bad for their future, because they have none. They are a crappy 14-9, 6-5, and they lose all 5 starters to graduation this year. And IS-who fans think next year will get better? It's gonna get worse.

I guess that's why IS-who fans spend so much time here; they have to find a program to support and be proud of;

While isu's official record is 14-9 if the committee will just ask Monte Morris Isu is really 20-3 because they are better than the other team in their other losses.

They will simply ignore those losses won't they?

I was watching and pulling for the the clones last nite, but wow they looked like garbage. Low effort except to create their own shots, no rebounding, lame defense, etc. makes me appreciate Frans offense and homegrown kids.

Sez the ISU fan who regularly posts disparaging remarks about the Hawks on the Iowa boards. I would post my real answer to your question, but I don't want to get banned here.

Sounds like you have some issues to work on. Because I am realistic I am disparaging the Hawks.
