Grad Transfer

What you described is what we need our SG to do way more consistently. I don’t mean just shoot 3’s, I want a SG who can hit a pull-up mid-range jumper, attack the rim and get to FT line, help handle the ball consistently. and play physical, strong Defense in the other team’s scoring guard.

I have no idea if this specific guy can do that but I do know that is not something our current SG’s do with any regularity.

LOL! It’s not something ANY of our current guards can do! I put Joe W as probably at a freshman the most proficient at doing what you described.

Right I totally agree, that is why I’m happy that Fran is potentially looking for an upgrade. Wieskamp is that only guy. Everyone is likely going to have high expectations for this team next year but I don’t believe those high-level goals can be met with the current SG on the team.

I’m not sure if your LOL was meant in agreement but we are basically saying the same thing.

I don’t see Patrick redshirting. He needs strength, but I don’t expect him to add a ton of muscle or weight due to his thyroid. I doubt if he had another last name that there would be so many calls for a top 75 player to sit out a year.

He picks up some of Baer’s minutes IMO and his production will ultimately determine his role.

Yeah, I don’t think he’s going to redshirt and my hope is like you said he can fill the Baer role for 5-10 minutes a game. The good thing is next year he won’t need to be relied on for big minutes and production and he can adjust to the speed/strength of the college game.

Not sure a great fit but certainly worth taking a look at. Can’t say I have ever seen him play but looking at his stats that’s a lot of 3 point shots (250) in 33 games. JoBo lead the team last with around 200 attempts in 35 games. I’m not sure if he provides anything Moss did not. Moss’s weakness was creating off the dribble. If he has the ability to do this then i’m all for it. Looks like a player that could play SF or SG.
Moss was one of the very few players this year who could take a few dribbles, separate from the defender, and spot up on someone for a mid range jumper. If you mean take it all the way to the rim then I agree.

Take a FEW dribbles is spot on. Any more than a few and the handle becomes very loose. Occasionally can create his own shot but rarely creates for his teammates.

This is exactly right. Too much ball handling by Moss was not a good thing. His handles and finishing IN GENERAL is very poor for a starting Big Ten SG. To add to it, the occasionally creating his own shot was much too occasional and like you said, his court awareness with the ball is usually not great.

I’m all for jumping on the Moss bandwagon - because he has shown brief flashes of being a quality player - if he can iron out quite a few things and become way more consistent but if he hasn’t done it in 4 years, I’m hard pressed to believe it will magically happen in the5th year. I don’t know if Fran can find someone better for next year but I’m hopeful this is a sign that he is trying. Because without an upgrade, I’m not sure if they will be able to get to where every one wants them to be next year. Bohannon needs some help in the backcourt to have a special season.

Dailey looked to me to be incredibly quick but.lacking confidence going to the rim. Give him some time.

Moss is a great player. I hope he stays. Not sure why anyone would want him to leave

Dailey is a senior next year. How much time does he need? Moss is a good player 30% of the time, a great player about 10% of the time and a non-factor about 60% of the time. Fran needs more consistency out of a 2 than Moss can provide. He isn't good enough in other facets of the game to merit so much PT when he isn't scoring IMO. I don't see his game dramatically improving in year 5 in the program given his handles remain highly suspect.

Some of you guys are real assholes towards our existing players. They give their best year round and you taint sniffers think you're smart enough to call them out.
Still waiting on the citation for which posts called out the players from you or one of the 30 people who liked your post

Wow, good job getting a lot of internet points! Let us know what nifty prize you receive when you redeems those suckers.

I love how many on this board down played Brday E.'s accomplishments this season as him doing it agains Mid-Major competition. Correct me if I am wrong, Akron is part of the MAC and the MAC is still a Mid-Major, right?

What I've seen of Patrick, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Joe Wieskamp and Patrick will man the small forward position for the next 3 years. Those 2 could be a very dynamic twosome at that position.
With Garza, Nunge, Kriener, Pemsl, and Cook manning the other front line positions, and
with Bohannan, Fredrick, Moss, Connor, & Toussaint, returning I can't wait until next season starts.
